I'm now hooked again on baking since retiring from full time work - always enjoyed it when younger, and now happily receiving regular weekly orders from children and grandchildren - yes, mostly cakes, banana bread, foccaccia, sponge cakes, etc.!!!
BUT - I've tried doing teacakes to one of Paul Hollywood's recipes recently, and despite following it to the letter - can't seem to get either the texture or appearance right. Always turn out like door stops - I get the feeling his recipes are a bit over complex, so wondered if anyone had any suggestions/ideas.
Thanks to anyone in advance
