I really think GNHQ should have some way of excluding all the one-post- compers from these prize draws. It seems really unfair to me that they see our forum as just a competition site to try and plunder.

Correction - I should have said that two of the winners of the said competition were regulars. The others? Not too sure.

Take heart, Crow, the winners of the Mason Cash bake-ware competition were both regular posters. It can happen!

Crow has got a point. When you read the bookclub Q&A at the end of the month it's always the same Gransnetters who take part. You rarely see any of the 'invisible' members participating.

Although I have been a member of gransnet for donkeys years and read the post most days, I stopped posting because of comments and people just so ready to " jump " on you. !

I don't bother entering the competitions any more. At the beginning of Gransnet I used to receive the occasional free book, now with so many "new" members, I don't receive anything so I just don't enter.

Just counted the threads I've been on-31 in the few weeks since joining. It's amazing how time flies when your'e having fun.

Ana I am when you look at the zillions of threads lots of you have been on. But it is nice to be noticed. I'm one of these people who take a long time to settle in. I'm muffle muffle years old and I don't feel comfortable in my own skin.

I do post but I also lurk sometimes. There are some such sad threads that I don't know what I could usefully say. I check regularly to see how the OP is doing. Other times topics are not necessarily ones that I know about so there`s no point in posting. I do check in every day and am so glad to know there`s such a positive, supportive online community. Maybe there are others like me?
