Here I am in Sandhurst with DGC and their parents. Others coming on Boxing Day. Having a very lazy time. Merry Christmas to all in the kitchen. X xx

Lona Wed 24-Dec-14 13:03:28

soop You do hug us lots, thank goodness. We come in here for 'comfort and joy' and we certainly get it from you, and each other.
I will add my thanks to all of you too, and my love and best wishes to all kitcheners and friends tchsmile xx

Phew! I wander into our kitchen hoping that just a few Granspals are gathering and enjoying good company. I find an entire throng of merry-making lovely "peoples" and am utterly delighted.

kitty I'm so pleased to hear that your mother has rallied. One doctor in particular made my pulse-rate do a merry dance. Bags knows. I won't mention his name, because his mother is a member of Gransnet. Shh! tchwink

Baubles You are a lovely lady. I'm sending you comforting vibes from bonnie Kintyre.

Gaga You are a star. I would love you to play any tune from Les Mis. I've the video but have not seen an actual performance. Or...how about the "Can Can"...^us lot^ will don our frilly drawers and do the dance. I bags being in the middle. I shall need help standing up whilst lifting my leg. tchgrin

I would very much like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our Granspal Kitcheners. Throughout the good times and the not so you have been a great comfort. I wish that I could hug each and every one of you. Thank you flowers

By the magic of this fabulous kitchen - or maybe by the magic of Christmas Eartha is here to sing "Santa Baby" for you! The same magic is also why my fingers just play whatever anyone asks them to. tchgrin

Nelliemoser Wed 24-Dec-14 12:01:28

Oh yes it must be Eartha Kitt. The last time I heard that one was in the Churchill pottery factory shop in Stoke on Trent.

Well it was in Tunstall not Stoke on Trent but that is a local distinction about the six pottery towns.

kittylester Wed 24-Dec-14 11:51:36

Yep and can you arrange Eartha Kitt to sing it please! Not Kylie - much as I love her!! tchgrin

Nelliemoser Wed 24-Dec-14 11:49:26

Gagagran Please play Santa Baby!

Gagagran Wed 24-Dec-14 11:47:19

Love Scarlet Ribbons kitty - here it is just for you.

PS I have a very worried looking black puss-cat looking at me - he wonders what I'm doing playing the soops' piano I think.

kittylester Wed 24-Dec-14 11:39:10

Scarlet -flipping gecko!! tchgrin

kittylester Wed 24-Dec-14 11:38:37

Hope it's good news for your son Lona. He seems a very thoughtful person. DS1 took his driving test twice after his stroke and failed both times and was devastated. I was very pleased because his co-ordination was awful (it has improved) but it also means that I get to give him lots of lifts, which means I keep an eye on him without him noticing!! tchgrin

No idea where the 'her' came from Baubles - sorry!!

I'd like Scalet Ribbons please Gaga - we don't hear it often enough - and, after the events of the last few days, I'm feeling a bit reflective!

Lona Wed 24-Dec-14 11:10:52

Hello all, kitty glad your mum is still 'trying', tchwink in every sense of the word!
I'm enjoying some coffee, and I've brought some mince pies (all butter from Waitrose, yummy), to hell with the diet!
Yesterday my lovely ds brought me a beautiful Christmas card which reduced me to tears, he is so thoughtful. He was on his way for an eye test for the DVLA to decide if he can still have a driving licence in January. The equipment was ancient and the woman doing the test was really unhelpful, so we have to wait now for the results hmm

Baubles Hope it goes well for your dh.

kittylester Wed 24-Dec-14 08:21:03

Baubles - hope it is not her major for your DH! (((hugs)))

Gagagran Wed 24-Dec-14 08:18:30

Morning all - lovely crumpets kitty - thanks. Glad your Mum is feeling frisky!

I thought I might have a session on the soops' piano this morning with a Christmas medley. Soop never seems to mind my taking it over for a while and it might be soothing for those who are feeling sad or harrassed - or both. Any requests?

Grannyknot Wed 24-Dec-14 07:44:21

... and flowers for all of those dealing with "life's rich tapestry".

Grannyknot Wed 24-Dec-14 07:40:20

Galen when people write like they talk, there's no room for pedantry, and in the kitchen we say what we mean tchgrin . So pendants can sit on their hands in the kitchen!

kitty big hug.

Soop (and other fans) how about some Elvis this morning? "I just can't help believing..." Makes me smile that he needs to read the words:

Good morning kitcheners. I wish you all a peaceful christmas.

DH has a hospital appointment today of all days. I'll update you after the holiday.

Glasgow is such a sad place just now sad

kittylester Wed 24-Dec-14 07:18:28

Good morning all. Just popped in to say a huge thank you for being lovely last night! I love the way gn 'gets' where I am coming from without my having to explain - just like a best friend.

I've put some hot buttered crumpets on the table, made coffee and put tea in the teapot!

I'll just polish off the sausage rolls - seems a shame to leave them sitting there! tchgrin

I expect that we (and mum) are in for a rocky few days so, no doubt, I'll be back for more hugs!

Galen Tue 23-Dec-14 22:42:44

Doctors love being flirted with! ( even when it's technically incorrect to end a sentence with 'with' ! { I've joined the pedants club }tchgrin}]

Charleygirl Tue 23-Dec-14 21:58:06

By the end of this week I will be an alcoholic and the size of a barage balloon if I eat any more goodies deposited in the kitchen. I am rather partial to sausage rolls.

kitty pleased to hear that it was a false alarm flowers for the worry.

Crafting Tue 23-Dec-14 21:51:42

Huggable! I'm sure you are kitty but that's not what I typed tchgrin

Just taken some sausage rolls out of the oven so thought I'd leave a plate here in the kitchen. Help yourselves but careful they're hot.

Crafting Tue 23-Dec-14 21:46:24

That's good news kitty ((huggable))

Agus Tue 23-Dec-14 21:29:47

Pleased to hear the panic is over kitty.

Of course it is acceptable for one to flirt with one's Doctor, someone of the lower orders would be quite unacceptable for Hyacinth tchgrin

kittylester Tue 23-Dec-14 20:35:07

Ok, so mum has been flirting with the doctor on the critical response team! Panic over for now! thanks for the lovely hugs!!

dustyangel Tue 23-Dec-14 19:55:44

kitty thinking of you. (((Hugs))) flowers

Lona Tue 23-Dec-14 19:11:56

kitty (((hugs))) here for you too. If you are there at the end then you have nothing to reproach yourself for, you know how guilt settles after the event? Even when there's nothing to feel guilty about. IYSWIM.
