What a brilliant idea kitty. Just mail me all your overseas bank account details. Will £10,000 be enough? wink

kittylester Fri 21-Nov-14 10:09:28

I've got a good idea! Anyone who would like to share our inheritance should transfer £10,000 immediately to my overseas bank account and we will divide any money we get between everyone - after expenses, obviously!

Flippin 'eck as we say round 'ere!
I've just read through the kitchen gossip from yesterday, and I got all excited for kitty for at least 10 seconds! hmm
Am now frantically looking through my family tree for any relation who might have left me money shock not a chance in hell

I promise not to mention Lemon Drizzle cake again for quite some time, it will have to be Chocolate cake with fresh cream I'm afraid wink
Teetime You definitely can't have any!

soop Have a good blether with bags xx

kitty I'm so excited for you and what a wonderful Xmas gift for DH is it a nice big Mercedes or a Jaguar and like you I wouldn't for one moment think this is a scam. I think I could find a Charles somewhere if I looked hard enough until then I'll just send you some begging letters if that's OK.
Now to serious matters my back hurts and no wonder I've put on a stone despite my efforts in the opposite direction so its no cake for me until Xmas and probably thereafter so please could you all restrain me from the lemon drizzle cake and water down my glass of wine. GS has announced his engagement and he doesn't want a big fat Granny at his wedding next year I'm sure. GD is following him the year after and to be honest I dislike weddings. I think GS girlfriend is a bit toxic and leans towards the Big Fat Gypsy Wedding style so that should be fun! Hope you are all well or as my mother used to say with a sigh 'as well as can be expected'. smile

Nobody in our family on either side is called Charles- am I still entitled to a share of the loot though kitty?

Galen those were my father's favourite operas too. You've reminded me of the time he recorded a performance of Carmen from the TV onto his reel to reel tape machine. We had to remain silent as the microphone was positioned in front of the TV, however in the middle of one of the arias the sound of a door opening and closing could be heard quite clearly.

DH and I attended a performance of Carmen in the arena in Verona this summer, my father would have loved it.

There's a fresh pot of coffee on the hob. I'm off to have my yoghurt.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 22:29:18

Carmen and La Boheme were my fathers favourite operas, can't resist them.
More of a Mozart and Verdi fan myself!

Charleygirl Thu 20-Nov-14 22:23:36

Galen it is after the watershed of 9pm, you really should be in bed.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 21:43:43

Goodness!
I'm watching Carmen on sky arts and so far we've had simulated sex, and now, full frontal male nudity!

whitewave Thu 20-Nov-14 21:25:17

Yes but it can't count as he isn't a relative - mine is deceased great Uncle Charles.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 21:22:15

The only Charles I know is my substitute regular taxi driver. (He was alive on Monday)

whitewave Thu 20-Nov-14 21:13:00

Do dead relatives count called Charles?

kittylester Thu 20-Nov-14 20:52:19

our

kittylester Thu 20-Nov-14 20:49:49

No this Charles had _our- surname!!

rosequartz Thu 20-Nov-14 19:57:21

Could we have a GN party for all those with relatives called Charles? grin
Perhaps the Savoy or the Ritz? Or somewhere a bit more classy?

kittylester Thu 20-Nov-14 19:18:19

Oh no, Galen. I've just ordered a top of the range car for DH's Christmas present! sad

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 19:08:59

Report it to the police.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 19:08:33

This is a scam!

rosequartz Thu 20-Nov-14 19:02:38

Getting really excited now - my paternal grandfather's name was Charles as well - we could be related and I could be in for a share of the inheritance! I will pay my share of the costs after you have deposited my nice hefty share into my account kitty (promise) grin

kittylester Thu 20-Nov-14 18:58:36

The good news came by post so I doubt we will even send an email! But, if you all chip in towards any of the nice man's cost, we will definitely share!

Nelliemoser Thu 20-Nov-14 18:11:30

Kitty I think it might be my Great great Grandfather Charles. grin Let us know how much you will have to pay to stake your claim.

whitewave Thu 20-Nov-14 17:52:07

Don't broadcast your sharing idea too loudly as we will get the whole world back on GN again making a claim!

Agus Thu 20-Nov-14 17:48:57

Kitty. My father's name was Charles. Could we be related and you know, share the spoils? grin. Look forward to the next instalment!

kittylester Thu 20-Nov-14 17:33:50

We haven't emailed him yet for final details! But I will definitely share with you all! grin.

Soutra Thu 20-Nov-14 17:25:01
