War Widow's Pensions

I am pleased that after 'many years' of trying to get the government to change the rules and regulation governing the War Widow's Pension the government have now done the right thing and agreed that men/women who have lost their spouses and are subsequently entitled to a War Widow's Pension can now be free to remarry and continue to claim their entitled pension.

Good.

To some this will be seen as a synical ploy, vote winner , wrong thing to do. If that's your thought then when would it ever be acceptable?

To me this is a just cause that has been fought for by men and women who have lost their loved ones providing service to this country and they should be provided for.

I think the fact they were not 'allowed', a horrible term, to remarry or loose their pension entitlement was wrong and I was pleased to hear the interviews yesterday that welcomed the government move and praised Michael Fallon for his respect and help in getting it through.
