One of my friends put the wind up me last night talking about opals and how unlucky they are. When I revealed that I took to wearing my mothers' opal ring during the same month that my marriage imploded, she was aghast saying that I should not have ever worn it because I wasnt born in October. Then I remembered that I had given the same ring to my son when he told me that he was going to propose to his girlfriend. It was given as a temporary engagement ring until the one she had her heart set on was bought. After that, she had my Mum's ring made bigger and wore it on her right middle finger. Ten years later they had the most horrible divorce and he gave the ring back to me. Oh my goodness, I'm thinking, could it be true? I'm not really superstitious but do feel spooked when birds fly into the house and all that. Has anyone else any stories to tell about Opals?
Moths I had never seen before have appeared in my garden
