Uses of the word inclement

What sort of suggestions? Surely it only applies to weather?

The sort of suggestions that use the word inclement, ana. Sorry if that wasn't clear. You could use the noun inclemency or the adverb inclemently if you don't want to talk about weather.

Can one be inclemently cross, for instance?

I've done a little googling and found two dictionaries that give a non-weather application of 'inclement'.
Collins gives 'harsh, severe or merciless'
and Webster's College dictionary gives 'not kind or merciful'.
As in a guilty person pleading for clemency, I suppose.
I agree Bags that 'inclement' is an elegant word and I shall use it at every opportunity, both in respect of the weather, and people's temperaments

I like the opposite too, my grandmother used to comment if the weather was unusually clement for the time of year.
