When did that happen?

Have you got a cat? I have unexplained bruises because I am a good launching and landing pad.

I get those - even whan I haven't been sliding along the floor of M&S!The bruises I got 2 weeks ago are stil there including some on my left forearm that I wasnt aware of at the time.
I wonder if you have had little burst blood vessels? We do get more sensitive as we get older don't we? Poor DH's arms are always a mass of dark bruising when he'has cannulas in hospital

"Sliding along the floor of M&S?" I went to our nearest branch a few weeks ago and was horrified that the very steep stairs leading down to the food hall had loose formica-type covering. It had been taped back in some places, but in others was flapping. As I was making my way down them slowly and with difficulty and clinging to the handrail with both hands because of my problem foot I had a vision of some poor soul going down at normal speed and tripping over these. I "had words" with a member of staff when I got to the bottom - and went back up in the lift!

I bruise easily and unexpectedly - it's surface bruising, called purpura, due to the steroids I've been taking for three years which make my skin thin.

Apparently those on a daily dose of aspirin bruise much more easily.

Bruising easily is a common occurance for those taking a daily dose of aspirin as you say Ana. My current bruises have come as no surprise since I started taking aspirin a few months ago.

I dont take aspirin or anything else.......... but bruise easily, without any knowledge of an untoward incident.

Cant be faffed to go to GP, just accept it as a part of my life from long back.

It's because your blood isn't clotting as quickly , aspirin being (I think) an anti-coagulant. (Mishap my bruises came from me executing an elegant nosedive in M&S food hall a couple of weeks ago )

I bruise much more easily now than I ever did before and I also get small red patches on my hands and arms which I'm assuming are very similar to bruise, just look redder and smaller. I never remember the reason for them and they go away after a few days without any help from me.
What I did have a few weeks ago was a blood blister on my tongue! It appeared very suddenly and grew to about the size of a baked bean, I popped it because it was really annoying but it was then extremely painful for about an week. Had anyone else had one of these?
