As I said on the thread about whisky, DH has been a real star since DD and the children moved in but he has now caught a cold from one of the children and he is being sooooooooooo mardy!

Does anyone else feel like murdering their Dh when they are 'ill'? It is driving me bonkers!! He sighs a lot, sniffs and coughs gently, always has to know where the mansized 'gentle' tissues are and gives off an aura of being really brave. angry

I know some of you are dealing with partners who have real health problems and I like to think I would be much more sympathetic and caring if he was properly ill but flipping manflu - aaarrrggghh.

A cold is a cold is coryza... and I shall treat the term 'manflu' with the contempt it deserves! I've known just as many women to complain "I've got 'flu"when all they have is a runny nose or a sore throat.

Influenza can kill you - very few colds will achieve that, unless someone is on the way out anyway.

We've both had really bad colds/hacking coughs for two weeks so have had to take turns with passing the tissues, making hot toddies, finding the paracetomol, staggering outside to feed the chickens and walk the dogs around a small patch of grass as that's as far as our jelly legs could take us.

Today we feel better so have just tossed a coin to decide who's going to put the oven on to warm up a pizza.

Onwards and upwards hmm

My late M.I.L had "flu" every time she had the sniffles but could still go about her daily business, the true sign of Flu..... imagine a £50 note on the floor, you could not care less !! Flu is serious, and should be treated as such.

I agree, if he is well enough to be such a diva all he has is a cold. Perhaps you could tell him you think he is so ill he should stay in bed all day and then make sure he stays there! That will leave you free to minister to him as and when you feel like.
