Hello and a warm welcome to you lovely lot. I'm about to brew a fresh pot of tea and there are plenty of goodies for us to munch on...
The phrase I have homed in on is that treatment is available. You both have every reason to feel positive but will need perseverance and patience as there will be a lot of waiting and hanging around. Yet again I hope you too will find that when the chips are down the NHS is second to none. DH was diagnosed with Lymphoma nearly 6 years ago and his treatment was both easy to undergo and completely successful. Wishing you both well for your journey to restore mcsporran to health. 2 pieces of advice if I may be so bold- get a kindle (if you haven't already) oe even 1 each, as there will be a lot of hanging around (that's why we are called patients) and also when help is offered, take it - casseroles, cat sitting, driving, laundry, anything at all. Your friends and neighbours will want to do what they can- don't "go it alone"! 
No, it is not all acute. Chronic is slow-moving, quite a difference.

Apologies. I should have typed "chronic" not "acute" I was a bit befuddled earlier this afternoon. 
Now then you lot there is no need for glumness. You have all, without exception, been a great comfort to me during the waiting/belly-aching bit and I'm blest to have your support. As I said, MacS [sleeping with Rory on his lap] is NOT fretful. Once the stage/level of the ailment has been established, we shall have an appointment and learn what is considered to be the best form of treatment. Since early June I've known that there was a problem with MacS's health. He has lost weight and he is tired but he never complains and in spirit he's tip-top-fine. We're to have a wee dram later this evening...to toast his forthcoming recovery.
The sea is huge. The sky is clearing. The wind is something else. Bye for now. I shall return in the morrow.

Both of you need them right now - you with your painful shoulder and 'orrible URTI and dear MacS with his, now, at last diagnosed condition. Keep strong and share with us when you need to. You are such a special part of GN and all of us will be rooting for you both.
