Hello and a warm welcome to you lovely lot. I'm about to brew a fresh pot of tea and there are plenty of goodies for us to munch on...grin

soop Thu 23-Oct-14 14:27:46

Agus I assume that the term "calcific" means just that...a build up of calcium. I have had my gall bladder removed along with something like 20 stones. Also, do you have lots of nodules on your bones...I think that they may be made of gristle. Sorry to pick your brain. I'm well aware that it is a minor ailment/condition but I'm at my wit's end with the on-going pain. It started back in May.

soop Thu 23-Oct-14 14:10:58

Agus I'm having the steroid injection in my shoulder tomorrow afternoon. I'm no wimp when it comes to pain [plenty of practise] BUT...the shoulder/arm hurts like hell and although the condition is far from serious, I almost wish that the arm could be removed. Night time is the worst time. I understand that the injections are limited to three per year. Is that true? hmm

Hello my darlin's...although it is a blustery day it is not raining. The sky over the islands of Jura and Islay are clearing. I'm trusting that all is well with my Granspals.

Thank you anno and mrshat for your good wishes. MacSporran blush and grin

Am I correct in thinking that our Bella is in Kent? Or what? Thinking of you. flowers

mrshat Wed 22-Oct-14 20:40:59

All good wishes to you soop and to MacS. Keep strong flowers

annodomini Wed 22-Oct-14 17:47:40

Although the trees were bending and thrashing yesterday afternoon, there hasn't been a massive leaf fall here yet. Any leaves that were falling flew right over my garden - where to, I know not! I do hope you soops have news soon about a treatment régime - hopefully one that doesn't mean too much to-ing and fro-ing.

The ferry is back in service. Mind you, I wouldn't wish to be aboard as the sea is choppy. Rory took a long look outside the door, ventured half a dozen paces [reluctantly] got his feet wet in a puddle, returned to his blanket on his chaise and is in a deep sleep and making little snuffling sounds. grin

Galen Wed 22-Oct-14 15:43:04

No way!

Crafting Wed 22-Oct-14 15:03:20

Galen it's not your chutney is it? grin

Soop hope you and MacS had a good night's sleep. Wonderful news about your grandson, some good news to cheer you up (even though you always seem in good spirits I know the waiting for the results was a big worry). I love your descriptions of where you live, the sea and the weather. I like to imagine you and MacS and Rory all cosy inside in the warm looking out at the stormy weather (perhaps a wee dram is in order grin)

soop Wed 22-Oct-14 14:03:32

I cannot put off doing my pile of ironing for a moment longer. I've walked past the heap for far too long. So, like the good house person that I aspire to become, I shall dash away with the smoothing iron. The left shoulder is giving me jip but that's no excuse as I am right-handed. wink]

Tegan Wed 22-Oct-14 13:23:30

They've all come to my garden I reckon sad. I used to know someone that was responsible for leaves on the line but they stopped using him. What do they do now [?] I wonder.

Charleygirl Wed 22-Oct-14 13:12:12

I have no idea where all of the leaves have gone- I am not being overly curious because to remove them was on my "to do " list today.

With luck you will get a date soon for the start of MacS's treatment. As I said previously I would love to move the hospital closer, it is a bit of a treck to get there and home again. A pity that we are facing winter. As the railways would say, it is "the wrong time of year to have an illness", similar to it being the wrong time of year for leaves on the line.

Galen Wed 22-Oct-14 13:04:59

Not the wind! But I've had a bit of indigestion.hmm

soop Wed 22-Oct-14 12:55:33

Wow! So many messages from my lovely Granspals. I've shown them to MacS and he says thank you and sends his good wishes to all of you.

The wild wind appears to be heading elsewhere but the sea remains choppy. I haven't caught sight of the ferry and imagine that it is cancelled for a second day.

Have any of you lot had problems with the wind? wink All the trees in the wee copse [from whence Rory came] are leafless. MacS says that the windows need cleaning. Sea salt in the air leaves an awful sticky residue. No sunshine to makes matter appear very much worse. hmm

Our grandson, Will, has landed himself the job of his dreams - filming for Nike. I haven't had the chance to ask him for details but I'm told that he is mighty pleased and wearing a large grin for good measure.

Tegan Wed 22-Oct-14 10:26:20

Although I haven't said much I have been thinking of you, soop. However, as someone who worries about everything, for some reason I'm very optimistic for you both, because I know so many people that have had similar things and it's only at times like this that I remember that they have been/are ill. I'm also pleased that you didn't move and take on that new build that you spoke about.

baubles Wed 22-Oct-14 09:24:10

I'm glad the waiting is over for you both soop, I hope the docs can get cracking with the treatment plan for your dear MacS. flowers

Teetime Wed 22-Oct-14 09:23:04

Ah soop I'm glad the horrible waiting is over for you and now you know what you are both fighting. I hope the treatment goes well and is not to onerous for you both. I think of you often up there and dream that one day I will actually be popping in to this kitchen. Much love flowers.

Hello everyone else hope you are not too windswept.

vegasmags Wed 22-Oct-14 09:16:18

Soop - so glad that at least you now know what you are up against and can get on with treatment. All good wishes to both of you.

Ariadne Wed 22-Oct-14 08:39:32

soop have already "talked" to you on FB, but the same here -((((hugs)))

Nelliemoser Tue 21-Oct-14 23:53:43

soop I am glad you have a proper diagnosis at last. Lots of love to you and Macsporran.

harrigran Tue 21-Oct-14 23:43:10

soop and MacS {{hugs}}

Crafting Tue 21-Oct-14 23:04:51

Soop hope MacS can get started on the treatment plan soon. ((Hugs)) and best wishes to you both flowers

janeainsworth Tue 21-Oct-14 22:41:34

Soop I hope MacS's treatment starts as soon as possible - and that you will both feel better once things are underway.
In the meantime, enjoy that wee dram.

NfkDumpling Tue 21-Oct-14 22:18:12

I haven't popped in to the kitchen for a while - trying to loose a bit of weight and the goodies which appear on the table are too tempting. They may be virtual but they certainly give me an appetite!

Just want to sent positive vibes and best wishes and hope for a good recovery for Mr McS. flowers. And Soop flowers. Hopefully Rory can work some cat magic. Nothing better than a loving cat for calming positive vibes.

Charleygirl Tue 21-Oct-14 21:45:40

I would love to move the hospital nearer!
