Sunday afternoons

Sunday is usually a lazy day for us too. DH has been in the garage most of the day making a toy box for DGC. I cleared up and cleaned the kitchen after he cooked breakfast, did a little housework elsewhere and have since read the papers and been on the net interspersed with making several cups of tea and coffee. Chicken is in the oven.
Occasionally we will go out either to a garden centre or to Moat Park which is a short drive away. It has some lovely walks around a huge lake.

I'm so glad! I thought you were all doing something much more interesting than me. We just watched a British film called Hot Fuzz which was hilarious. DH is in his study listening to the cricket and I'm about to get busy with the dinner - roast chicken and the rest of yesterdays apple crumble from our windfalls. Glass of vino I think- have a good evening.

This Sunday is a-typical as we had no-one staying so had a really lazy start. But, this afternoon DD and I are blitzing the kitchen, we rarely get anything wrong with us but, when you look at it critically, the kitchen is a bit 'lived in!

I'm about to start on dinner and then to sit down with the papers and the Village!

Lazy day here,two youngest DGCs been and gone left a void in the biscuit & sweet drawer but all quiet now,football over and done with for another week (I hope)
Cleared out my bedroom drawers this morning and threw away all sorts of bits & bobs where they come from I haven't the faintest idea so all neat and tidy again.
Just put the veg into the steamer for Sunday Roast later on and spending sometime catching up on here as I seem to be neglecting topics at the moment due to school holidays.

DH gone for a nap having watched liverpool win. They didn't deserve to evidently. I've cut out the backing for a baby quilt and will pin it for quilting tomorrow. I've also put shirts on and off the line. I can't waste a good blowy wind for drying although when I first came to Durham I was roundly scolded for putting out washing on a Sunday and still feel uncomfortable about doing so. I went to Beamish last week and they had some lovely rose and cardamom biscuits in the farmhouse and I thought I would try to make them. So bit of a non event today but after five days of DGSs I just feel dazed.

Sundays should be lazy. Takes ages to read the papers, endless cups of coffee and toast!Some bacon and eggs if we feel like it. Just been outside sitting in the sunshine with a glass of white wine[well. it is 3.30!]DH is now watching sport that he recorded.Catching up with email and gransnet and then off to read a book until it's time to cook a meal. An easy meal [chicken stir fry.]

No - not a more interesting life here. Presently DH is downstairs watching football and I am browsing GN (which is very interesting obviously ), having just cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom.
Sundays are usually spent reading the papers, doing the crosswords, me saying 'shall we go out and do something?' and him saying 'if you like' or 'do what?' then we end up doing nothing at all! We will pop out for a drink this evening though
