Hi everyone, I used to be silverfish. I tried agreeing with silverfish but no one guessed it was me so for now I will be Ethel.
Hope you still all love me lol

How about eyebags. Fun thinking up names grin

Ana Thu 07-Aug-14 20:47:02

Quite. Are they actually trying to wind-down GN for financial reasons unknown to us? hmm

Marmight Thu 07-Aug-14 20:44:07

Well, I recently changed my name from Gally to Marmight and matron was not too overjoyed to do it. I had thought in the past it was easy peasy to just ask to change the name rather than resign and start all over again, thus losing 3 years worth of photos/PM's. However, she relented, sort of....... I think we should kick up a stink - a mass sit down outside Gransnet Towers and demand that we be heard winkwink after all we are so used to Jingle metamorphosing into her next character and it wouldn't be the same if she couldn't change into her next persona would it?

GrannyTwice Thu 07-Aug-14 20:08:04

Well I think it's really unfair that MN are treated so much more favourably . Do you mean jingle that if you leave now you can't come back? HQ - can you explain ?

merlotgran Thu 07-Aug-14 19:44:43

Has jinglbellsfrocks broken the record for your username's length of service, jingl?

Ana Thu 07-Aug-14 19:41:17

grin

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-Aug-14 19:39:09

Unless that's a special version for me! shock

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-Aug-14 19:38:22

They have changed it. You could just decided-register, with the option of joining again. And you had to use a different forum name.

Now, it just says, "if you leave, that's it". (words to that effect)

apricot Thu 07-Aug-14 18:50:54

I want to change my name (how about BagLady?) but despite trying, I've never managed it. It's easy on Mumsnet, apparently impossible here.
How did you do it op?

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-Aug-14 18:24:10

Could be that Elegran. Of course, no way could it be that the Mighty Ones have completely lost any semblance of a sense of humour they might have once possessed.

Kiora Thu 07-Aug-14 18:18:59

I have no idea what this is all about! Im probably a bit dimblush oh well as my mother would say "ignorance is bliss"

Nonnie Thu 07-Aug-14 13:55:22

Been away from Gn for a couple of days and now I come back I can see that I started something to get memories going. While on this tack and completely off subject I was thinking this morning that young women today don't know how lucky they are. They don't have to sleep in big plastic rollers, don't have to sugar their petticoats and don't even have to teach their children to tie shoe laces. grin

Elegran Thu 07-Aug-14 12:08:53

Maybe you have used up your nine lives, Jings ?

Lona Thu 07-Aug-14 11:32:10

Well that's not much then Nonu! wink

Nonu Thu 07-Aug-14 11:28:52

I also agree with EVERYTHING LONA posts !
grin

Lona Thu 07-Aug-14 11:24:14

Nonu grin

Lilygran Thu 07-Aug-14 11:12:49

Why did silverfish 'get locked out'? And why would you need or want to post under more than one name, from more than one address, unless you are playing games?

Nonu Thu 07-Aug-14 10:47:35

Well just to let you know I agree with everything NONU posts!

gringrin

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 07-Aug-14 10:42:01

I don't understand why she can be ethelbags1 but I'm not allowed to be orlakielyhandbags!

It's not bloomin' fair. <<stamps foot and goes off in a huff>>

Ana Thu 07-Aug-14 10:37:59

Ethel says in her OP why she agreed with Silverfish.

Elegran Thu 07-Aug-14 10:35:12

Was the "I agree with Silverfish" post a kind of test run to see your two usernames together? I can see how that would make you smile.

POGS Thu 07-Aug-14 10:29:25

ethelbags1

Having started this thread you should expect posts relating to it, also other threads.

I understand you have been open about your change of name and I like that, as it was obviously not a move made because of personal problems as some other GN's have sadly found the need to change their name.

I find your last post a bit sensitive given the fact you started this thread on the 6th Aug but on another thread you openly post of 4th Aug as silverfish but then on the 6th you posted as ethelbags1 stating 'I agree with silverfish', on the very same thread. It is a bit weird for a poster to agree with her/himself and I think it was not a surprise another GN mentioned it.

Maybe this would have been avoided had you not posted in agreement with yourself and simply mentioned the fact on that thread you had changed your name for the benefit of being open to other posters.

Ana Thu 07-Aug-14 10:21:58

Surely you can't have two usernames on the go at the same time?
Unless you use a different computer address for each, I suppose...

Penstemmon Thu 07-Aug-14 10:18:19

Also why would you want/need to have a double entry on GN? hmm

etheltbags1 Thu 07-Aug-14 09:33:39

I get tired of the 'little nasty things' remarks. I told everyone because im honest and it was not to agree with myself cos if Id wanted to do that I would have kept on being silverfish as well as ethel, I could have had some fun doing that but on reflection I thought It would be too much bother. If anyone doesn't like it - tough
