My DH is more like US, in housekeeping anyway. I think men generally get a bad rap. Maybe the issue is generational? I am fortunate that my DH was one of two sons reared by an exacting domestic MIL and so he is tidy, cleans, decorates, and taught me to do a 'nice' laundry (MIL words)
DS is the same. My DD is making progress re-training DSIL. Good luck there.
DH has done all the housekeeping (and to my standards!) the past year because of my severe lower back problems. Plus gardening a 2 acre plot on his own. He brings out seating for me so I can comfortably enjoy chatting with him as he weeds. He refuses to cook (except grill) LOL. Oh, he has a full time job plus 45 minute one-way commute. I am enormously grateful for everything he does.
PS I have built fences, block walls, brick pathways; installed insulation, put up and caulked siding; shoveled out for a jacuzzi, designed landscapes, and ran the concrete mixer for years. Maybe that's the cause of my back troubles? So, I am not a princess in case it seemed like that!
Genes or environment? Both?
