Soutra darling girl, so pleased to hear that something positive has resulted from your trek and tiring wait-around. You were on my mind all day yesterday. I hope that the transfusion has put roses into Mr Soutra's cheeks and a lively spring in his step. (((hugs))) for you both.

Yes, the drive to Oban, although along a winding road similar to a fairground switchback, is through some glorious scenery and the sun has shone throughout the day. Oban is a very pleasant town...at it's best at this time of the year.
MacS's* appointment was the first of the day. He was disappointed that the biopsy that had also been mentioned during his consultation, was not included on today's agenda. Anyway, he was gone for about 50 mins and had the scan and came back none the wiser. Which of course we understood because the radiographer has to send the readings on to Glasgow...we then wait for another appointment to hear the result...after which, he'll have a biopsy taken from the lump. In the meantime, along with a multitude of patients who are facing up to and going through far more difficult and trying times, we are truly thankful for the services of the NHS.
As for Rory...
I persuaded MacS to lock the inner hall door and leave the outer door open. Rory therefore had the garden to loll around in. Rory's blanket was placed in the tiny hall entrance together with a dish of the vet's costly feline fodder and a dish of water. We arrive home and I'm hoping to goodness that Rory hasn't gone on a walkabout. He was nowhere to be found. We called his name...nowt! MacS was a little miffed concerned. I could imagine him thinking...I told her so...and then, as if by magic, in Rory wanders, tail up high, imaginary grin on his face and demanding immediate attention. By golly, I was so relieved to see him. Isn't it daft. After all, for ten years (at least) he's lived a self-contained existence in a forest. We were away for a mere seven hours and his welfare was high on the agenda. Ah well!

Well it's a glorious day here so at least, apart from the tiring drive, soop and McS will have a beautiful scenic drive and a pleasant lunch in Oban. Hope you are not too exhausted soop and had a favourable day.

You'll be tucked up in beddy-byes soop with your early start but every good wish for tomorrow. We had a long and frustrating day at the Royal Free as everything over ran and trying to fit 4 things into 1 visit was asking for trouble. However ultra sounds showed no spleen or liver probs snd DH had an hour-long iron infusion which should set him.up for a month or two. (It looked just like IV Irn- Bru actually ! )

Gagagran I have porridge every morning. I love it. I also like it unsweetened and with sliced banana and blueberries. Even when away from home, if it is on the menu, I choose it.
anno My father used to drizzle condensed milk over the porridge. Not good from a dental health point of view. 
As I doing my Tuesday ironing duty, I saw Lara Gransnet debating the baby-boom generation who apparently are very well to-do (as my Nana used to say.) Well, she looked and sounded a cut above most folk on such debates. I felt strangely proud of her. Daft as a brush, me!
Soutra We kitcheners are exempt from boring stuff like washing the dishes...and we most definitely won't be needing passports. Our kitchen is our personal wee kingdom. It is magical territory. For as long as there are two Granspals who need to share, the door remains open, the coffee brewing, the cupcakes freshly baked, a cosy seat and a devoted black cat in attendance.
Bella please let us know when the results are known. We all want you to have a period of hopefulness and peace from on-going stress.
MacS won't know the results of tomorrow's scan until we return from the soon-to-be family gathering. Thank you for your kind messages.
It is Nellie and we paid for the extra two years but I'd happily ditch it and start again. As it is we have it for the next 3 years and 3 months!
