I forgot to mention that it is a balmy [not barmy] day. I'm hot under the collar. I blame that silly housework. Must remember not to succumb on warm-weather-days. wink

number Many people think that we look alike. It's funny that I cannot see the resemblance. I can often spot a strong resemblance between members of families that are unconnected with my own. It's baffling. hmm

Crafting Oh what a confusing time we've all had, simply to find ourselves back where we started: in the kitchengrin By gum, we've travelled some distance. It's very thirsty work. I may need to make a huge jug pitcher of refreshing Pimms and offer all the kitcheners a large glassful. Also, we have some Loch Fyne smoked salmon sandwiches. MacS made them specially. I've done the housework [honestly] and now I'm happy to be back with the Granspals who make this forum extra special [for me].

Bottoms up! wine

Dragonfly, so sorry.
Soop, sounds like a great weekend was had. You and your son have the same eyes!
Alie, wonderful news regarding your cat.

annodomini Mon 14-Jul-14 17:06:52

AliO, I'm so glad the poor old cat has survived the trauma of the dog incident and that you have too. flowers

Hello again. I think I'm here confused I arrived somewhere else this morning with Galen and I think kittylester offered us a glass of champagne ......... or was I just dreaming! I see rosequartz got here ok. Must be exhausted after that long trip grin.

AliO what good news about your cat. You must have been so worried after the dog incident on Friday.

Soop what a lovely surprise for your son on his 40th. Glad you had such a good time.

rosequartz Mon 14-Jul-14 16:07:55

Hello everyone, rested now after my journey here!

Dragonfly so sorry to hear your sad news flowers

Granny23 some good news for you and your Dh - so pleased.
And good news for you, AlieO, perhaps she will not venture too far now. Some people seem to use dogs as weapons and it is scary.

Soop what a lovely time you have had, what a wonderful surprise for your son. I will look at the photo in a minute.
Do hope MacS gets a diagnosis and correct treatment soon. It must be very debilitating.

charleygirl, can I come and stay at your house for a week or two - as long as can have a lovely time like Tara does.
grin. I promise not to bring any mice indoors.

I think it may rain here so must go and get the washing off the line.

Hope all is well with everyone else

Agus Mon 14-Jul-14 15:52:01

What a relief Alie

Charleygirl Mon 14-Jul-14 15:51:14

I thought that the cat would return when she was hungry, she loves her home too much. It is nasty if the dogs are chasing and/or frightening her.

Lona Mon 14-Jul-14 15:19:21

AlieO smile

moomin Mon 14-Jul-14 14:54:24

What a wonderful adventure soop!
Relieved AlieO that your cat has turned up safe and well

AlieOxon Mon 14-Jul-14 14:40:25

Yes, big relief. I really thought she must be dead somewhere.
And I haven't done any housework - and I don't care!

Cat is settled on the back door mat - she can get in easily from there.
I must think what to do to wind down.

Shall probably go to the library to stock up on books.

dustyangel Mon 14-Jul-14 14:22:45

soop Mon 14-Jul-14 14:22:29

AlieO That is wonderful news. sunshine Right...now I really must do all of the outstanding jobs around the house.

Nonu Mon 14-Jul-14 14:20:51

You must be so relieved and happy Alie

soop Mon 14-Jul-14 14:20:36

Would you believe that I still haven't done a scrap of housework? Well, I have not. I feel exceedingly guilty wink and to make amends I shall strip the bed, put the washing machine on, iron stuff that has no home to go to until I've attended to it, stroke the cat, hug MacS and leave all of you lovely lot with a smile until I join you again, later.

AlieOxon Mon 14-Jul-14 14:18:04

Update!
Cat reappeared about 20 minutes ago!
I was searching all over outside as I heard a mew - came back in the passage and there she was.
I don't know where she reappeared from! She seems ok.

Suspect she might have been chased last night - that's what happened last time she disappeared for several hours.
Whew!

Thanks for concern folks - it did help.

Nelliemoser Mon 14-Jul-14 13:55:10

Soop What a lovely treat for you.

AlieOxon Mon 14-Jul-14 13:44:19

And they still don't know what it is? Sympathies to MacS sunshine

soop Mon 14-Jul-14 13:32:33

He is expecting an update from the doctor on Wednesday. His back is still very tender...but nowhere near as painful as it was. He has a new crop of spots on his face. confused

soop Mon 14-Jul-14 13:30:20

MacS sends all his devoted ladyloves a smile

AlieOxon Mon 14-Jul-14 13:29:14

Yes Lona the worst is not knowing!

Lona Mon 14-Jul-14 13:24:20

Oh Alie how worrying for you. I hope she turns up soon or at least you find out what's happened to her, if she has gone off to hide herself.

soop smile xx Hope MacS is feeling a bit more chirpy sunshine

jollyg Mon 14-Jul-14 13:21:50

Lovely pix of the pair of you, glad you had a super time.

I kept my finger too long on the pix button, and saw all the sores McS had........, and no resolution yet. How very very sad, and a big black mark to NHS

AlieOxon Mon 14-Jul-14 13:14:52

No cat yet. Thanks for messages folks.
dusty I wouldn't be surprised if this happened.

....but what is really bothering me is that after the dogs on Friday almost getting in, she refused to go out all weekend, and as soon as she was back to normal and sleeping in the side passage of the house - then she's gone.
I was asleep - I can't help thinking that they might have got in again last thing at night......
