Soops kitcheners

Greetings kitcheners! Hope you have a wonderful clan gathering soop and thoroughly enjoy yourselves. Have you got a "Mary Poppins" for the furry one in your absence? He will not be best pleased to be left out of things I suspect.

I've just had some very disappointing plums for lunch. They looked good - big Victorias but in fact they turned out to be rather juice-less and I feel quite cross as they were sold by our local greengrocer as "perfect for eating". Well not in my view matey!

Hello suebailey1 What is this thread about? Well, it's about nothing in particular and all manner of things in general. It is a haven of relative peace and quiet. Folk [*kitcheners*] drop in for a wee chat on any subject close to their heart. Sometimes we feel the need to open up and share and we've discovered that, there will always be someone who will empathise and encourage and listen...we believe that, although we may lives miles apart and may never get to meet, we are pals. We boast about the grandchildren, fret over health issues, congratulate each other on success and commiserate when life throws a spanner in the works. I hope that you are a little less befuddled. Please keep calling in. You are most welcome. The more the merrier...

kitty My eldest son lives in Leicester [Clarendon Park]...we shall be spending a few hours with him during our visit. It's a great pity that we'll be needing to pack as much into the weekend as we possibly can. Otherwise, I would like to meet you. Every hour is accounted for. We only get this gathering to happen once each year...and there will be 14 family members to catch up with.

I keep looking at this thread and wondering what its about - I have read some postings but still don't know.

soop, I will try to get my picture of GD onto my profile. Not sure how private it is. She has grown so much in the past two years that, having once been one of the little ones in her year, she is now one of the taller ones and looks like a teenager already.

soop could you let me know when the noise level in Rutland is scheduled to rise this year? We are only 25 miles or so away so need to ensure we have earplugs at the ready!

Twenty minutes on the exercise bike. Have been pedalling along to The Platters Sincerely it is a joy to listen to their unique sound...takes me back to my teens.

anno I'm looking forward so much to being with my grandchildren. Torben is still "the baby" of the family, or so his big cousins think. Apparently the two teenage boys have shot up by 6" since last year and their voices have matured. Our second to eldest granddaughter is to be married next year. It's lovely to spend time with all the girl and boyfriends...a very noisy time throughout our visit. Do you have a photo of your granddaughter in her new uniform? If so, I would love to see it.

The weather has brightened considerably since we visited Campbeltown. The clouds have floated eastwards. Rory is assisting MacSporran as he trims the wayward hedge. He [*MacS*] has a step ladder close by. Why is it that I hardly dare peer through the window whenever I hear the sound of the trimmer.

Torben looks really up for it. Such enthusiasm! Not such a 'wee man' now soop! My second DGD started at high school yesterday and is reported to be a very happy bunny. She looks great in her new uniform - blazer and all.

Tesco shop this morning. Midday treat in the Royal...including a wee dram. We always feel that as we raise our glasses to say Slainte, the weekend begins in earnest.

Lona I had no idea until I read your post yesterday, that your husband had suffered a TIA. I am happiest when in our kitchen...I feel most comfortable with my Granspals. Hence I tend not to trawl through the entire forum. If you can spare the time to pop into the kitchen and bring us up to date with your news, that would be a bonus.

Soutra, what a shame that you are having difficulty uploading images. You must feel very frustrated. Are the pics too large? I mean how many pixels? I haven't a clue as to how I can advise you but what I have to do is put the image into "paint" and reduce it accordingly. Only then will the image be accepted for upload. I know that I've lost you...I'm losing myself...but someone like Elegran [who is very clever and articulate] may be able to put you on the right path. Why not send her a private message. I'm about to add Torben's first day at school photo. May need to reduce the pixels...

kittylester I have missed you recently. As Agus so eloquently says...we have a special meeting place...no need for deep-seated debate and such...we are companions and as such each of us can speak from the heart and know that our good, bad and indifferent experiences are shared.

dustyangel have fun with your family. I'm imagining that our Bellasnana has a spring in her step and a on her face. Very soon I shall be making the annual trip to share time with all our family. I love the build up. The very anticipation of hugging all the grandchildren, is uplifting.

You all have so many things on your respective plates girls all round I think! I can imagine thejoy of having Bella to stay with her nana I hope it gives your morale a welcome boost! We are looking forward to DH meeting his littls DGD on Friday and giving her the cot blanket I have crocheted for her. I have tried so hard to upload pics of it and of Pippa but fail every time Bon courage to all those DHs facing treatment and to their ever lovings

All good wishes for MacS's visit to the hospital next week soop. Will keep fingers crossed.

I completely missed hearing about your DH's TIA, Soutra if you even had time to post anything about it. I hope that he (and you) are feeling better and have good news from the consultant.

My DD1 and family start arriving tomorrow so and or and and of course to all.

number I enjoy hearing from you. No need to be eloquent, especially in the kitchen where we are all pals and don't judge each other. You are just one of us in here, dealing with family life and supporting when needed. Other times it's just a good blether and your contribution is just as interesting and important to all of us. or whatever you fancy. Hope you have a good book on the go just now as I know, like me, you love reading..

Bellasnana I can almost feel you fizz excitement. How special it must be to have your daughter and wee Bella at home with you. No amount of pep pills could raise your spirits to such a degree.
