I`ve never been to Lympstone, it sounds pretty.
Happy anniversary! We are in Lympstone, and seem to have bagged the best view! This morning we walked to my Nan's house - it has been doubled in size, so it took me a while to believe it really was the one! I strolled the route to the little station that my brother and I would take when we were small to catch the train to Exmouth for the day. It is amazing that we were allowed to do this on our own - we would take our cossies and go to the swimming pool, play on the beach etc - totally unsupervised - we were primary school age. Ah, innocent times!
PS, I don`t need cards, just a medal!
Good afternoon all, been a bit wet here, but fine, dry and warm now. Happy Birthday Grannyknot! It`s our 51st wedding anniversary today, but himself didn`t even know till we had cards from 2 of our daughters! I think the other 3 have forgotten, never mind, it`s just another day. Your holiday destination sounds lovely Mishap, where in Devon are you?

Good morning all.
Weather is having a tussle with itself here - started off looking decidedly dodgy but the sun seems to be winning now.

Your holiday location sounds idyllic Mishap - I hope you thoroughly enjoy yourself
Happy Birthday!
Just woken on first morning of our holiday to the sound of the waves. We are in a tiny fishing village in Devon, where I spent all my childhood holidays as my Nan lived here. The cottage we have rented is right on the water in the little harbour and the sea is just one pace from the front door across a tiny terrace. It is beautiful - the sights, the sounds and the smells. We have breakfasted in bed, and sitting up in bed, it is as if you are in a boat as all you can see is the (slightly choppy!) water.
It is a strange and bitter-sweet experience being here in a place I knew so well and that is full of such memories - some happy and some sad. The man I knew as a child as "Uncle" - he was my Nan's second husband and not my biological grandfather - committed suicide when I was about 5 in the house here where we used to spend all our holidays. And it is so odd to be here as an adult and see it through adult eyes - and to think that all my Nan's knowledge and love of the place has gone - quite an odd feeling. But lovely too!
Have a lovely birthday Grannyknot.
Keep at it Whitewave I lost 3 stone about 10 years ago and although I have put a few pounds back on it was so well worth the effort. It was wonderful to feel I wasn't dragging a great sack around with me any more.
One tip which worked for me I gradually started to water down all my drinks so that now for instance I have a large glass of water with an quarter of Appletize and it tastes normal to me. I do the same with fruit juice but even have less juice in the glass.
Finally morning all and Mick.
Happy birthday grannyknot

OH dear day of my family picnic and its bucking it down here in north essex.

Morning, all.
It's my birthday today, and I've been awake since early bells, reading. Already had a cup of tea and a slice of banana bread. I see 2 wrapped parcels have materialised on the hall table overnight. Just need to wait for the gift giver to wake up!
Good morning all. It rained overnight in East Sussex so my washing got another rinse. It needed it as I left a tissue in something!
Morning Mick - and all other early risers! It's humid and overcast here on the SE Hampshire coast and the promised overnight rain did not appear. I'll need to soak my geraniums today therefore.
