Can you ever have too many............

Dressing room, eh? I'm not going to say the dreaded 'p' word, janerowena, but I want one too!

Shoes, boots, handbags, plastic bags, I recently threw out a whole bin bag of plastic containers that 'might come in useful' and it really hurt, oh the agonising...

I only managed one pair of shoes. And no handbags. But if I get rid of all the handbags that I never use I would have more room to store all my boots...

Four years ago DBH left a little door that goes into the eaves open and the mice got into my dressing room and ate my four best pairs of leather boots, they nested in them and ate the leather. Four years. And I still haven't thrown them out.

I think putting it on paper today (as it were) has enabled me to move on and get over my grief. I think I feel strong enough to dispose of their mangled remains now.

Scarves in my case. Just must have that lovely shade of green although I already have green!

Boots! Ankle, calf length and full length. Some flat, some with a small type heel and dressier ones!

Frames. The reason I have so many mirrors in the house is mainly because I like the frame. Also use them to frame various things and do different paint finishes. Recently bought two rectangle frames which I will paint and then I will put wooden letters spelling,out GD's names. When I saw the price of this kind of thing in shops I knew I could do the same so much cheaper with half price frames from Asda.

I remember my Grandfather collecting 'good' brown paper and string but that is a thing of the past due to fancy paper and sellotape.

Currently, in my under the sink cupboard there are 3 bottles of blue squirty cleaning stuff but, sometimes, there is none!

Wool - bags of it just in case. I don't knit, but I might try one day
Handbags - only use the same one unless going to an event, so why do I have a cupboard full of them?
Shoes - lots, brand new with heels just in case I manage to totter in them one day - Oh yeh?
Chairs, mostly from antique emporia junk shops. I am addicted to them - far too many to sit on
Duvets - from my b&b days - who knows I may have an invasion one day and need them all
Cleaning stuff - I can never remember if I am running out, so buy it just in case I have
I could go on.....................................

Tegan dobbing stuff on them is why I keep buying new ones. Last night it was cheese sauce

Another shoe fiend here - my husband used to call me Imelda Marcos!

I can never throw away a polythene bag. They are saved in a kitchen drawer for wrapping opened packets of food in the fridge or cupboards. They are mainly bread bags, but I even keep the ones that leaflets arrive in through the post, except the ones which have a strong smell. I have far too many, but keep adding to the collection! I also have a huge number of different sized clips for closing them.

I think Anthea is renowned for being OCD and probably only wears hers once anyway. I check out all the colours and end up buying black. If I wore a white one I'd dob something on it in no time [mascara/soup/toothpaste].

Tegan I bought 2 white t-shirts yesterday ( I can't go through M&S with out picking up at least one!) and they make the older ones look so grubby! Well, that's my excuse (presumably Anthea's too but, at £6 a go, mine are probably a lot cheaper than hers)!!

I bought loads of hats for last Saturdays wedding and ended up wearing a fascinator that I'd bought at the BHF charity shop the day before the wedding. Prior to that I'd only ever had one hat and that was the one I'd bought for my daughters wedding [now out of date and didn't fit me; my head's shrunk ]. However, with my hair being so thin I do have the world's largest collection of winter hats, cause my head gets cold in winter. I have tried using a slightly smaller bag recently but found that I can't get all of my stuff into it in an accessible way, so I've gone back to my usual [huge] bag. What did surprise me on Saturday was how much stuff I managed to get into my very small pretend Chanel bag. This included purse with money [decanted from my usual huge wallet]; drugs [paracetamol;Rennies;Imodium;Zovirax; plasters for my feet]; hanky, comb,phone,glasses, chewing gum [to eat between post wedding snack and wedding meal to prevent having bits of food stuck between my teeth only to be discovered hours later ]. I think there may have been more..oh yes, my house/car keys and the S.O's house/car keys. The spare tights and comfortable shoes stayed in the car. Have just looked in wardrobeand discovered several black t shirts I bought last year and forgot about. I think Anthea said it was important to always have a brand new white t shirt to wear when the need arose. I do need some black trousers but I'm a funny shape and can't find any that fit me [I've got my Per Una jeans which are quite smart though].

If there's anyone out there who is a size 6, do let me know. I seem to have quite a few pairs in the bottom of the wardrobe still in boxes!

Actually, I think I do now how a few of them got there. I used to get very tempted by various pairs in the Kaleidoscope catalogue when they were reduced. I would order them, find they were just a tad too tight, but convince my self they would "wear in".

I've also bought them in shops when they felt quite comfortable, that is until they were worn for an hour or more and I discovered they were actually cunningly disguised instruments of torture!

Size six red snakeskin stilettos anyone? Or perhaps black patent trouser boots with a banana heel?

Cake tins !! they seem to multiply in my house for some reason,DD brings DGD to mine bearing gifts of goodies she has made for her grandpa and the tins never get taken back same with DS1 he bake's a lot at home when his girl is on a late shift and will bring what is left down in another tin all shapes and sizes in my cupboard.
Also guilty on the tupperware front every shape and size you can think of.Mind you I do tend to find a use from them when transporting catering orders so do come in useful.

I have quite a large 'stash' of fabric (in readiness for possible future quilts). Having it isn't a problem; my sister says in her quilting group whoever dies with the most fabric wins! Storing it is a bit of a headache though.
