I wish he had stuck to the well televised interview he did where he was asked about Twitter (I don't think he was on it at the time, not sure). He said "Too many tweets can make a twat". Should have heeded his own words me thinks.

Seriously though he is not the only one to fall fowl of twitter usage, they all do it. I personally can't abide watching Parliament and seeing the MP'S using their mobiles tweeting etc. A really important subject could be being debated and all you see are MP's on their mobiles, ignorant in my opinion. I swear I saw one back bench MP doing a Sudoku one time. .

I agree it is getting to be a situation where a few people have closed their Twitter and Face Book accounts, Stephen Fry I believe got fed up with it for example. I don't use Twitter so I don't know if he has stuck to his view at the time.

It's a difficult one to call for MP'S isn't it. Not on it, fuddy duddy and not bothered to keep in touch with the electorate. On it and you suffer the type of comments posted on here. A bit of a no win situation I guess, just have to laugh it off and keep going and hope people see it for what it is, albeit sometimes it is nothing more than a modern day system of a Kangaroo Court and a way of abusing and threatening somebody with anonymity as many have found out to their sadness.

KatyK. Just picking up where I left off over a year ago. So, a bit slow with your 18 June post. At times like those re the knitted balaclava, I wish I was a "tweeter". Forces humour is great at the best of times, but when the Pilgrim's are on form you never know what to expect. Do you think we should start a post "What did the Queen say to Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams" when they stood at the Iron Throne? Or, what did they say to HM? Perhaps best left to the Pilgrims to tweet.

What purpose is served by repeatimg these here? If I wanted to read 'tweets " I would go on Twitter. I don't so I don't.

It is a fact that people in the public eye, and lots of those so called famous folk have someone who tweets for them.
One of my sons thought it might be fun to tweet for some "celeb" in USA but he didn't get the job!!!

He does it to appear young and part of The Big Society, you know, that big happy family we all belong to just as long as we haven't fallen on hard times and don't need the NHS or a food bank or the wherewithall to pay the gas bill.

I don't think the Camerons will worry about what weird things people are tweeting.Presumably they have more important things to do [one hopes so.]

I do have a Twitter account but have never managed to catch on to how to use it. I think DS1 (always in the forefront of technology!) put me on to it in the first place.

Gerry Adams recently did an 'ask me a question' Twitter session. He seems to now think that people see him as an upstanding member of society. Some of the questions were hilarious. I don't "get" tweeting, I suspect I'm too old to appreciate it.

I don't suppose he's doing the tweeting himself, but if he hasn't got time to tweet he's not doing his job properly because he isn't giving himself time to relax or to think. N.B. I am not commenting in the quality of his thinklng, or any other politician's.

I think Twitter is very interesting. Nothing wrong with MPs - or anyone - tweeting.

I think it's bizarre, tbh, that the Prime Minister should be tweeting at all. On Digital Spy, they call it something much ruder than tweeting!
