Good morning everyone. Just got back from an excellent holiday in Wales. Hope everyone on here is okay smile

Morning Mick - you're up early today. Norfolk is grey too but feels fresher with a northerly breeze. Our garden is very full of very busy sparrows this morning. And blackbirds. They've all had a lot of babies this year. I'm trying lion poo to keep the cats out of the garden and it seems to be working, but if this lot all survive to breed I may have to invite the cats back in!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Morning All and Mick.

Hope you had a good day out yesterday Mick.

Back from hols Deb so it will be washing machine on and being pleased to be back in your own bed!

NFK how lovely to have so many sparrows I saw 2 starlings recently, a bird which appears to have vanished from the Thames Valley.

Off to watch the Dragonboat racing on the Thames.

Good morning all, a little overcast here after some really heavy rain yesterday, which the garden really needed. Fathers Day today, so happy day for all the dads out there, and hey! the world is still turning, even though England lost the first game of football. Enjoy you days.

NfkDumpling Sun 15-Jun-14 07:43:18

We used to have a lot of starlings NanKate but then Next Door had their roof fixed and this year I've only seen one.

NfkDumpling Sun 15-Jun-14 07:46:06

May the sun break through soon and rain come overnight for everyone - especially those with a lot of holiday washing to do and mad people in dragon boats!

SloeGinny Sun 15-Jun-14 08:03:46

We've just returned from Norfolk and the weather there was glorious.

Here in the Tees valley, it's warm but overcast, hope it gets out sunny and doesn't turn to rain.

Gagagran Sun 15-Jun-14 08:06:41

Morning all! Feels much fresher and it's overcast here in SE Hampshire.

Good news on the sweet peas - 3 flowers have appeared overnight and there are loads more to come. The experiment of growing them in a long tom pot seems to have worked and I am really chuffed!

Happy days everyone! sunshine

Good morning everyone. It is very hot and sunny in Malta today. DH has gone for a swim with his Ramblers group. It gets too hot for rambling in summer, so they swim instead.

Gagagran congrats on the sweet peas. I really love them. They remind me of one of my aunts who had a very long garden and it was a treat to be allowed to go down to the bottom of it and cut a bunch of sweet peas. She had hundreds of them.

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day to all flowers

Good morning, uniform grey here today.
My sister is flying to UK today because we have a very sick cousin who lives alone. I will visit GC this afternoon but may need to travel south at short notice so am a bit twitchy.

Morning everyone, grey but warm here too.Fathers Day so DH is quite happy about impending hordes of family [presents!] We are having lunch in the garden[BBQ so fairly easy] although keeping toddlers out of trouble, not so easy!DGS2 picked himself a nice bunch of large clematis flowers when he was here last week.Have a good day.smile flowers

Lona Sun 15-Jun-14 10:36:07

Good morning? I think not! It's persisting down and has been for some time.
Oh well, another day of not painting the rest of the fence! grin

Had a lovely surprise evening with ds and family last night. It was a belated birthday bbq for me and it rounded it off beautifully. sunshine

annodomini Sun 15-Jun-14 10:41:36

Good morning - as Lona says. Miserable, drizzly, grey day. No incentive to do anything much, though I have to try to get a grip on the new printer that arrived on Friday. It looks very space-age.

AlieOxon Sun 15-Jun-14 11:21:32

Mornin' all.
I am SO cross with myself. I've been getting papers ready, as I intended to go and see my MP (re the house next door, see other saga) - and I read the date wrong and missed it on Friday.
.....I suppose it's a good thing I checked.

Dull here, but must water the greenhouse.....

Charleygirl Sun 15-Jun-14 11:21:59

The sun is out in NW London but it is not as warm here yet as yesterday. I had a lie in today because I watched the football to the bitter end last night. I do not intend to do too much today.

Good morning everyone, very hot here. The whole of Portugal is having a heatwave. The Algarve was put on Yellow alert yesterday, I'm not surprised as the temperature rose to38.5C/101.5F and they say it will get hotter today before starting to go down on Monday. I'm making the coffee one day so that we can drink it iced the next day. smile

Bella, it's a good idea for your H's group to go swimming instead of rambling. Most clubs and groups here close from June to September, apart from the cyclists! The children broke up from school last Friday.

My poor sweet peas are suffering, they are not helped by the fact that I can't water them in the heat and by the time the sun is off them I'm liable to forget them. blush

Morning all. Warm and still in E Cornwall. Lots of tablecloths/napkins on the washing line from yesterday's vintage afternoon tea. People came and loved it.
NFK we have swallows nesting in the garage at the moment. They are busy in and out feeding their babies and we have to cover up the cars as it's a bit messy in there. It's lovely to have them. Does anyone know when the babies will fledge and leave? Blue tit babies are supposed to all go on 12th June, according to a friend, don't know if that is true.

Hi everyone a wonderful warm and sunny day here in N Ireland. Busy afternoon ahead with Father`s Day hoards coming - well not that many. This year we have a lot of birdlife in the hedge outside our window - robins, finches and some I don`t know the names of.
