An odd phenomenon

And we all know about the Christmas lights which have a whole year to get themselves entangled. I now just chuck them in the box, they will be in a mess next Christmas irrespective of how long I take to carefully wind them in a a neat skein.

I have a filigree golden box filled with old big eighties fake pearls and gold beads and fake rubies. I know what you mean, I think mine looks like pirate treasure when the light hits it.

I like heaps of necklaces all tangled up in bowls on a window ledge. I never wear them ,just think how pretty they are when they catch the light.

DBH is a bit of a dandy. He loves expensive clothes. Not that we can afford them very often, but he has to work with people who have far, far more money than him and he feels that if he dresses to their standards they won't just dismiss him. I fear he may be right, I read several articles lately that men are far more likely to judge others by how expensive their clothing is.

What they don't realise is that all of ours are courtesy of eBay.

I think the first posh reference was just meant as a bit of a joke, so I carried it on the thread in that vein.

Nothing posh about cuff links. My sons both wear them, though not all the time. They would be horrified to be considered posh!

I thought of this thread yesterday as I unravelled the lawn mower cable. How could it have knotted when it was attached both ends?

I customarily choose a shirt that requires cuff links when going to town to lunch at my club. But I do them up myself.

Why is it considered posh to wear cuff links? DH certainly would not consider himself as such, yet much prefers links to buttons. Thoughtless assumptions are annoying.

My hubby likes to wear cuff links too occasionally, but then we have to trawl through his shirts to find one that accommodates cuff links - so we are only posh here in the Thames Valley about twice a year.

Mine do it all the time. I shall have to buy a couple of those organisers.

The best way to untangle chains is to put them down on a sheet of white paper and hold a pin in either hand. Tease the chains apart, once the weight if not on them they slither apart easily.

The only problem is, I never have a sheet of white paper and two pins when I am trying to put on my jewellery and do up DBH's cufflinks five minutes after we should have left.

The earth spins at 1,036 mph (at the equator); no wonder they get in a tangle! I just broke a silver chain trying to untangle it from a very fine gold chain! Don't care about the gold chain, but the silver one was of sentimental value.

Starting to feel giddy .....

Lona I have about 60 or 70 pendants necklaces - could be more!

Bought 2 yesterday for £1.25 each and they are fab.

I have a coat hanger with an old towel or soft cloth around the hook bit, and I hang necklaces over it and hang it on the tie rack/wire on the wardrobe door.
No tangling occurs overnight or when I'm not looking

Charger leads for me. My wool stash. needles with cotton on in my sewing bits tin.

Ah! perhaps its the Coriolis effect where the motion of the earth turning affects the winds in the different hemispheres.
I wonder if our cables etc. get tangled in opposite directions in the different hemispheres?

Anything metal like cables could also be affected by the the earth's magnetic fields.
Then there are all those electrons zooming around the atoms in our stuff, they could be doing it.
Prove me wrong!

My jewellery does this and so do the various charger leads. The leads tie knots in themselves if they are quarantined.

Be careful, they may breed and you will be overrun by lots of little paper clips.
