An odd phenomenon

I use they tiny bags that come with spare buttons on a new jumper, I put a chain or pendant into one of these and then into my jewellery box so they are all individually wrapped and I can see whats in each bag

That might explain why when I unroll the ball of socks from the drawer, I find it isn't a pair after all. I think they must be disguising themselves before doing a runner.

I once found two socks in our hedge, they had obviously done a runner and got stuck. On my morning walk I noticed an odd black sock at the end of my neighbours drive. That too is obviously doing a runner. If it isn't there tomorrow I will know it has got further in its travels.

I confess I have yet to see a pillowcase, but next time you see some odd garment lying in the road or on a pavement. It hasn't been dropped or thrown away. It is on the run.

My washing machine is an ended-portal for some parallel galaxy. In that other galaxy there is a housewife who puts in 2 socks and gets three out
But yesterday she also received a free pillow case.

I have this problem, too. It mainly affects one black top. It's in the wardrobe when I'm looking for another black top, but when I want it..........

Two pairs of jogging pants are currently in hiding somewhere in my bedroom. A nuisance because I like to slip them on when I get up.

I thought it was only my clothes that go AWOL like that. So annoying.

Can I slightly change the subject? I have clothes that hide, I know I have that pair of trousers or that jumper, but when I look where it should be, it's gone. But when I'm looking some thing else - there it is on its hanger as bold as brass!

My hairdryer and hairstyler live together happily in the same box; a bit TOO happily because they are always entwined, even when I have wound up the cords/flexes properly. I am always expecting to see a mini hair straightener or something as a result of this constant union.

Horses for courses, isn't it?Short sleeved shirts, or open necked long sleeved shirts are more comfortable for men, especially when they are relaxing, I can think of nothing worse than having to wear a tie, and cufflinks look a bit de trop in the supermarket.However, I do like men to make an effort and dress up a bit [if I have had to, then so should he.]

DH has a fair few pairs of cufflinks including a beautiful antique pair that belonged to his father. Does he wear them - does he heck as like!! He insists on short sleeved shirts every time

Durhamjen I regularly say and write things that I think are funny and others go po faced on me !! I am sure we would have a good laugh together.

It's good that even though you are sadly on your own you haven't lost your sense of humour. Keep them coming.

Yes, I am envious, as I do not have a husband any more to wear the cufflinks he had before he died. He always used to take a double cuff shirt to weddings, but never wore it as he could not manage to do up his cuff links and would not be helped.

MY DH hates cufflinks and only wears them to weddings etc. and he has so many pairs!He also hates wearing a tie, and again only does so when he has to, as he has had to all his working life.

My husband also sings for his supper. He is a tenor and gets lots of engagements as a soloist. So not only does he wear dress shirts with cufflinks, he also wears waistcoats and bow ties. He is very posh indeed!

There is a very positive side to being married to a cufflinks-wearer. They appreciate new cufflinks for Christmas. Also bow ties and cummerbunds, and waistcoats, although I usually make those in secret.

Bow ties should also go on the list of accessories that end up in a tangle.

I bought him a beautiful box once with dividers to store all his cufflinks. Does he use it? Does he hell. They all go in together, mixed up in a plastic freezer carton. That looks really good on his dresser, I can tell you.

I think cufflinks look so much more attractive than buttons and my husband used to love wearing cufflinks; occasionally, one cufflink would go missing leaving him with an assortment of single cufflinks!

It's not a sin to be posh. Stop using it as an insult. People who do come across as right envious sour pusses.

I have a necklace tree, one of those that looks like a woman's torso with loads of appendages. I carefully hang my necklaces when I take them off but rarely am able to remove one to wear without some form of untangling. It is a mystery on a par with the missing sock...

Oh yes, GillT7, Christmas lights are particularly malicious. Stansgran - that sounds like a good use for my two precious crystal bowls! Now I need to haunt the charity shops for more beads.
