Grannyknot you appear to have had a wonderful send off, more . Tomorrow will be a superb day for you as you will not have to go to work. The first few weeks seem like a holiday but then it sinks in that you have retired and will never have to do any more paid work unless it is your choice.

Bellasnana that is great that your DH is home again. You may not understand this expression but many others will, he will be feeling weak and wabbit for many months to come.

I do not mind if anybody pinches the mint, I much prefer the almond. I have none left here so may pop in to pinch one when the match starts.

soop I would put money on it that MacS did not have shingles. It appears as though he is getting slowly better. Rory will be taking good care of him.

I have the Sunday newspaper to read before I sit down to watch THE match- it will be a long one I think. Enjoy it, all you tennis lovers and watchers.

NFK I had shingles 2 weeks ago, with blisters at the very base of my spine, spreading downwards. Nothing on my trunk. I know of someone who have had it on their face and scalp.

I saw a doctor and started a script within 3 days of the first discomfort starting, and apparently that knocks it on the head for all time. I understand the pills were anti retrovirals (but I may be wrong).

I know what you mean Tegan - a multiplicity of guilty feelings wondering what you could possibly have done wrong plus working out the whereabouts of nearest and dearest and likelihood of nasty accidents!

Just popped my head around the door and am very relieved that things are looking up after such a disastrous time. (Do you really think Soop that Mr MacS had shingles - I didn't think shingles ventured down there - does it?). Great that he's getting better anyway, the wee drams have obviously strengthened his constitution!

Just had one of those sickening times when I saw a police car had stopped outside my house but it looks as if he'd pulled someone over; your whole life flashes before you, doesn't it.

I haven't been in the kitchen much due to an addiction to Wimbledon, and I'm almost overdosed but not quite yet!
Kvitova played a very strong match, I really enjoyed it. Roger's going to win tomorrow. Pleeeeeese.

I was rooting for Kvitiva. She is a lovely lady. Her opponent had a very tough match. Isn't she pretty? She's a champion of the future, I'm sure. It was rather disappointing because it seemed so one-sided. I do enjoy a good scrap. I had a dark choc Magnum...delicious. Even managed to eat it without dropping slivers of choc down my top. A first!

This morning I picked my beloved H up from his stint in hospital. He's now showered and looking more like himself, but he's very tired so has gone for a lie down. It's good to have him home

Bellasnana Your message sounded so upbeat and made me smile. Well done to both your dear husband and you. Taking each day and making the very best of it is certainly an art form... MacSporran has not heard a dickie bird from the doctor. His appointment is for next Friday. I thought that he was meant to return yesterday. There are three different GP's in the practice, we shall have to continue to be patient. In spirit, MacS is feeling heaps better. All the spots [apart from a cluster on his head] have faded. The site of the outbreak remains very tender. It is no longer a scary bright red. I keep thinking...shingles!
