Hello soop and the kitcheners, may I join you? I've never been before and would like a guided tour. I'm having a quick afternoon cuppa berfore ironing and getting ready for my journey to Argyll and Bute to visit with DD and the DGC. They have moved house so now my journey has been extended and involves a ferry, such fun, I love sea travel even if it only takes ten minutes. Poets day eh, here's one of my favourites.
The year's at the spring,
The day's at the morn,
The lark's on the wing
The snail's on the thorn,
The morning's at seven,
The hillside's dew pearled,
God's in his heaven,
All's right with the world.
This is the way I wake up every day. I'm one of nature's optimists. Nothing ever floors me for long. Have a marvellous day everyone and thanks for having me. I'll call again when I come back from Scotland.

AlieO Lovely that you should call by. You certainly must make every effort to get your grievance heard and dealt with. You are amazing. So patient and deserving of a satisfactory and happy outcome.There are about 50 more visits before we all move on to the latest extension.

I think I just walked though the last one a little while ago....have been bust emailing and researching to email a lot of local council people about that house next door.....think have finally found an Act that might act on them....! (Town & County Planning.)

Now waiting, but feel that something might be possible. My house is my one big asset and I refuse to think it is worth nothing.

Granny23 I am heartened by your latest message. If I could present you with a huge posy of sweet peas, I would so. Sadly, we haven't any growing in our garden. Maybe next year...

Agus Soop's Lodgers sounds perfect. What do our other kitcheners think? I shall be able to share my 'secret' with you all on Monday. In the meantime, I'm extremely fond of each and every one of you. If I'm unable to pop in over the weekend, please look after each other and have fun...for goodness sake, do relax, don't go making yourselves busy and over-tired. Should the kitchen need to close [coming up to the 1000 visits - again!] then I hope that one of my Granspals will perform the opening ceremony to the new venue. For me, it is a special place. The companionship is priceless.

I'm another coffee addict, can't remember when I last drank T. Another 'Day off' for me today. DD1 has taken DH off to rehab and will collect him too. Have done a big cleanup outside so far, while it was cool but that's the sun broken through now.

Our fickle cat, Cassidy brought an unusual present this am - a small dead bat, left at the back door. I say fickle because having been very much Granpal23's cat until his accident, Cassidy has switched allegiance and now follows me around everywhere, getting under my feet and trying to share my computer chair. Obviously cupboard love as I am now the purveyor of pouches (must be the gravy varieties) and milk and the door opener. Cassidy still stubbornly refuses to use the cat flap unless someone (moi) holds it open for him.

Thanks for your comments re my 'big secret' which have given me a different perspective. I may have been a bit precious about principles when Granpal's wellbeing is the only consideration. If, eventually, I am castigated for keeping things from him then I will just have to take it on the chin. A small price to pay. Perhaps if I mention that DH is a polio survivor then you will understand the mind set which leads him to push himself to (and beyond) his limits. Might also give a clue as to the tentative diagnosis which relies on the elimination of all other potential causes. Whatever the eventual outcome we will be fine - we have become very close over the last months since we reverted to being spouses/partners instead of our outsider designated roles as 'patient and carer'.

Oh, I would even put money on it Galen and I'm not a gambler

I have a suspicion you will never drink tea again then Galen . Nice to have another coffee 'mate' in the kitchen and yes, I would say it's a wee bit too early for any 'bad juice', only fresh fruit variety.

Your kitchen must be massive by now Soop. May be time to actually build a lodge and we could call ourselves Soop's Lodgers. ....Nah, doesn't have the same ring to it.

kitty Well spotted. Would you believe that we already have planning permission...and, when the moment arrives, as if by magic, our new kitchen will open. If I shouldn't be here to open the door, please will one of you lot do the honours. I've rather a busy weekend ahead. Will catch up later. I promise.

Doctor has just phoned to say that MacS blood test results still not back. She's to phone again on Wednesday.

I'm going to leave a small espresso machine in the corner if you don't mind Soop. I'm not a tea drinker but oh my, I do need my cup of kick start in the morning!

Couldn't resist another 4 red geraniums yesterday so, also on my to do list today is to pot them up. I love that splash of red dotted about the garden especially in areas where flowering is over for some plants and it looks like we are in for another braw sunny day

Gaviscon should work for your acid reflux Lona. Hope it clears up quickly, it's a rotten feeling.

Won't stop for tea as already downed two cups and it's GS's 4th birthday today. Still have the eyes to ice into his Spider-Man cake.

Hope your tummy gets better Lona, here's something I find works. Grate about 1" fresh ginger, cover with boiling water and allow to seep for a few minutes. Strain and add a spoonful of honey and a slice of lemon or lime.

I usually have a cast iron stomach but since last Sunday I've had horrible indigestion, and a burning, griping feeling. Don't know why, but I'll be glad when it goes away.

Good morning! That's a little early for me crafting, May I leave it in the fridge till later?

Since DD and the Dgc have been staying I find it more difficult to get into the kitchen but I do keep an eye on the goings on.

I'd love a big mug of tea, builders with sugar and some toast (I presume virtual toast is gf and calorie free) before I brave the new HUGE Sainsbury 's and try to escape without taking out a mortgage!
