Yes, pleased to hear McSporran is attacking the shortbread and a dram.I have just called in for a quick mug of cocoa before toddling off to bed.You can add a dram to it if you would, may help me sleep.Anyone ever tried a dash of Scotch in their cocoa? I'm doubtful now, but what the heck.That's a nice looking dog in the sheepkin covered basket by the AGA is it new Soop? [well, we can have a virtual dog can't we?I see a glossy border collie with a wall eye and a tail that thumps up and down when we come into the kitchen.]How welcoming is that?

Glad to hear Mr McSporran is better. It sounds like he has a sturdy and rebellious immune system. I hope you find out soon what the bug is in case it thinks of fighting back.

Very pleased to hear McSporran is making some progress Soop A visit to Campbeltown for a treat would lift the spirits too, especially one involving a wee dram. Hope you get your lap top fixed soon.

Gosh, you lot have been really busy on GN today. So glad I popped into the kitchen when I joined. It's such a warm welcoming place to be. Thank's Soop for letting us all in (you're welcome to pop into my kitchen at any time but you'd have to squash up a bit as it's quite small - lots of though!)

Dragonfly you aren't Superwoman even if your lovely dad thinks you are. His hearing aid will get sorted in due course. My sister used to do my dad's shopping whilst I visited mum in her nursing home, both of us busy with full-time jobs, growing families and grandchildren starting to arrive. Dad would phone and suggest my sister should go to Sainsbury's for some items, then Morrisons and finally Asda, in order to get the cheapest groceries. She told him she was going to Tesco's for her shopping, and if he wanted his that's where she was getting it! He won't realise just how busy you are, but you could tell him - never registered with my dad, but you never know!

It's been a tricky afternoon. The nice man who is hoping to sort the problem with my laptop has tried several times to speak to me over the phone. We cannot hold a conversation for longer than a few seconds...a ringing tone buts in and forces us to hang up. I've been trying to read up on Epstein Barr virus...and now I'm really confused and frustrated because the internet is playing silly b's.

MacSporran and I did the weekly shop this morning. We then treated ourselves to a coffee and shortbread and a wee dram in the Royal. MacS seems brighter today. Almost all the spots have faded. He's still sore. His headache has cleared. His appetite is better. I'm hoping to goodness that we discover the cause of his recent problems before the end of next week. In the meantime, I feel that I should not fret unduly.

I hope that all of my Granspals enjoy a peaceful evening. I'm wondering whether Bellasnana's dear husband enjoyed his birthday gift of a flight. I do hope so.

Difficult sometimes for those G'netters with DC DGC and elderly parents to care for.Must be a balancing act. Tea and cake every hour on the hour,I think to give you energy.

jollyg scabies can also give a maculo papular rash which is what our lovely McSporran seems to have.

Scabies,,,,, I think not, himself slept in Morocco in dirty lodgings, came to India to meet me, and guess what I contracted the the devils and he had 'spotted dick'.
Went to GP, he was useless, gave some ineffective cream, did not say we should sleep apart.

Sent himself back to GP with a piece from the internet, on paper, correct medication this time, and problem solved,

Scabies mite burrows into the skin and as such is not a rash,[ what is a rash?] an irritating itch.

Just read a book about our soldiers who were incarcerated by the Japs in Changi, they all suffered from scabies.

For McS surely the should have concluded tests by now

McSporran could have Epstein Barr virus, scabies, or syphhillis.
They all give that type of rash as do few tropical diseases.
I'd put my bets on Epstein Barr as I presume they have tested the fluid from the pustules for scabies mite and I would think syphhillis is a no no! I would hardly call Scotland tropical, so tropical diseases are unlikely ,even with global warming!
