Some of the names GNetters have used are obvious in how they were chosen, but others a bit more obscure.

Some I may have deciphered.

I think Numberplease must have been a telephonist at sometime.

I can't however work out Dragonfly1 or Soutra or Jinglebellsfrocks

I spend most of my life in total confusion, hence the name grin

MiceElf Mon 02-Jun-14 06:47:28

I'm MiceElf and that's all there is to it.

My 'song' part was because I was struggling to learn a song for our choir concert and the 'ruby' was for the ring I had from DH for our 40th wedding anniversary in 2012. It didn't cost a lot, in fact it was second hand from eBay but I love it and wear it every day.

not every sunday, Soutra, I sometimes have a day off.

Ana, have a horror an absolute phobia of the little so and so's so I guess it was a natural thing to use, I changed my name from Cactus as I got bored with it.
I love reading the posts here, there are many I don't reply to but just sometimes I like to be a bit 'windy up'. lol, no hard feelings
Going to bed now Goodnight all.xx

I'm just wondering why you'd choose something you hate to be your username, Silverfish...confused I find that odd!

Soutra Sun 01-Jun-14 21:25:24

Do you make a habit of "winding up" on a Sunday night?

Silverfish Sun 01-Jun-14 20:57:32

Im in a windy up mood tonight lol. No hard feelings Pittcity it probably isn't your family.

rosesarered Sun 01-Jun-14 20:51:29

SHHH! silverfish it may be Pittcity's family grin
I love all roses, and as a child skipped a lot, to the skipping rhyme 'roses are red, violets are blue' etc.

Silverfish Sun 01-Jun-14 20:42:57

Pittcity, did you see the documentary on channel 4 about the family called Pitt from Ashington, Northumberland, they were the neighbours from hell.

Pittcity Sun 01-Jun-14 20:07:32

I use the same name everywhere and have done ever since we first got an email address. Our house was "like Piccadilly Circus" (to quote my gran) and our surname is Pitt. I am not worried about being incognito yet

bikergran Sun 01-Jun-14 19:53:32

hmmmm...hmm smile

glassortwo Sun 01-Jun-14 19:49:27

Penstemmon Sun 01-Jun-14 18:22:00

Mine is a typo of the plant I was looking at when thinking of a user name!

Silverfish Sun 01-Jun-14 17:50:33

That is so sad Dragonfly, I don't know how you cope.

My name is cos I hate the little buggers who creep in my books, windowcills etc.

dustyangel Sun 01-Jun-14 17:21:21

Mine's a play on words of my email address.

AlieOxon Sun 01-Jun-14 17:07:15

Mine is particular to this place....I go on a lot of family history forums and use several different ones, but one a lot more than others because otherwise it's difficult to remember who I am!

KatyK Sun 01-Jun-14 17:04:10

Gaga grin I love your name

numberplease Sun 01-Jun-14 17:03:50

I tend to use the same name, otherwise I confuse myself, not hard to do! And yes, I was a GPO telephonist in the late 50s and early 60s.

Gagagran Sun 01-Jun-14 17:01:41

Mine is self-explanatory! grin

ninathenana Sun 01-Jun-14 16:41:08

If you belong to any other forums do you use the same name there?
I don't, mine are different.

Marmight Sun 01-Jun-14 16:35:08

My old name was too obvious - my name with one letter changed, so I was easily traceable. I decided on the 'brown stuff' because I love the stuff and one of my names starts with Mar (no it's not Margaret!) and I am always saying 'well, I might do this or I might do that' so a bit of a play on words wink

Lona Sun 01-Jun-14 16:30:18

Mine (third one) doesn't relate to me in any way, which is why I chose it!

besottedgran Sun 01-Jun-14 16:23:51

Mine is obvious too-- I am totally !

newist Sun 01-Jun-14 15:46:40

Mine is a play on words from the area I live in

Galen Sun 01-Jun-14 15:36:36

Galen was a famous medieval physician. I was a doctor (now retired)
