Do many of you receive thru' your post box a community newsletter?
I have helped produce a letter , four times a year for the last ten years but through a variety of reasons have not been able to do so this last year .Trying to find out whether it is worth re starting we have been enquiring of people what they want from such a letter, as one of the comments is that it is boring...We have appealed to people for ideas , suggestions and news with very little success and there isn't a great deal going on in the area to be newsworthy for articles, We cover the local church activities, sport, leisure centre, local museum, schools etc,etc .
Money to produce it is not a problem and we usually make enough to make donations to local activities . Our local shops have always supported us , we don't charge much from the adverts and we gat a good deal from our printer.
A gentleman friend and I do most of the work on it ourselves and work well together but at our ages (85 and 80) we are questioning whether it is worth our efforts to continue.
We have a good daily local newspaper. so people are well informed as to what is going on in the town maybe they don't need another local rag ?
Your comments very much appreciated.
What medical conditions seem more common now than when you were growing up?
