Dorset I worry about my daughter all the time - and I was upset when my oldest grandson broke up with girlfriend who my daughter was close to! Things change, but sometimes for the better.

I've been at a painting and drawing class (first time) this morning, and now have half a drawing of a plant....I am very slow and out of practice!

Tears again - in a good way. All the hugs, kisses and words of support from other GNers.

Happy Birthday Marmight, I would have loved to be somewhere warmer but juggling childcare didn't allow it this year.

Mutual birthday wishes Harri and thanks for all the other birthday greetings. I am in Spain with DD3 and her family which is lovely and helps me to forget I am a year older, although as it is an even number, it sounds less old/younger than the previous one!

It's warm already here this morning and was very hot over the weekend. I'm having trouble deciding what to pack for a visit to England so I phoned DD1 to ask what the weather's like. "Cold" she said, "and very windy. Tomorrow is going to be cold and the next day is going to be wet... and cold." So I revise my packing, thermal layers and my warm fleece.

So if there is an unexpected heat wave in the UK in the next couple of weeks. It's because, yet again, I've packed the wrong clothes.

dorsetpennt; I was only thinking back this morning to when my son split from his long time girlfriend. Of course you're feeling your daughters pain [and it's always a terrible shock when you get a phone call at a time that always means trouble of some kind, which wouldn't have helped]. Just use the strong shoulders of fellow gransnetters to support you . Yes kitty; it's very grey isn't it .

Hope you feel a bit better, Bella. It's raining in S Staffs, grey and miserable. Housework and washing machine beckon after a lovely few days with family here. Plus have to empty pantry 'cos am having new burglar alarm fitted tomorrow and they want to put the control panel in there. Always a voyage of discovery, emptying my pantry...... Sunny today. Had to be somewhere at 9.30am but my car will not start so I am waiting for the RAC. What more could I want on a Monday!

Awoke to lovely sunshine. Looking forward to my trip up to the grandchildren {DS's} on Wednesday when my daughter phones at 8.30am. I know there is a problem as she never calls from work. Her boyfriend dumped her over the phone last night.
She is coming up for thirty-five, has a very good job but just doesn't seem lucky in the 'Mr Right' stakes. She's been with this guy for 6 months, I had a few issues with him myself, of course never said anything to her. I was happy that maybe at last this would be it, settling down, home, babies etc.
Am I silly to be really upset about this? Is it typical that we worry about our daughters more like this? I know she wants to settle down but is just unlucky. I feel quite tearful about the news. Silly old moo.

Morning just come back on here for some witty chat and company really. I play a bit of golf and do a bit of volunteering but otherwise retired nurse manager with too many opinions. Have a lovely rain free day whatever your doing.

Good morning, bright sunshine this morning, and very warm through the windows. The wind has dropped, thank goodness. Sunshine and showers promised (easier to type than say!), and not a lot planned, except a visit to the library and if fine a walk along the front. Enjoy your days.
