Well after 7 years my DS1 has finally popped the question to his GF,they went yesterday and bought the ring and came in last night to tell us the good news.So if the wedding takes as long as the engagement I may have a bit of time to decide on "The 'at" as a scouser would say, though I can't see it being as big an affair as DS2's wedding this chap is all for lets just go and do it so I imagine they may go off to a beach or USA and just "do it",but one happy GNer this morning mr.glamma is pondering how much his bank balance will suffer though grin

What lovely news Glamma and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the big day. smile

Have a look in the charity shops Glamma for your new 'at. I got an amazing one for a Christmas wedding for less than a tenth of the original £100 price tag.
It was abit dissappointing though to find I was only one of two guests wearing hats - a few others had fascinaters . The other hat wearer was a teenager wearing a top hat !

Cheers, glamma! What good news on a gloomy morning - well, it is here. I'll put my 'wedding' hat on Ebay... After all, that's where I got it from.

Congratulations to all! Have to say that I'm glad that DD has decreed a 'no hats' dress code for her big day in July. At the last 2 weddings I attended I had trouble with slippage and almost ended up with the hat perched on the bridge of my nose -not a good look! Off shopping today and hope to report with next posting that bride's mother outfit is hanging in wardrobe.

annodomini thats where I got the last one from a brand new Jacques Vert creation and I loved it,it did the hair do problem as well as I only had to pile all my hair up and inside and off we went.Must be thinking of colours agin as we don't want the problem we had last time do we when the clours where not suitable for the group pictures glamma must steer clear of red is embellished on my brain grin

Congrats, glamma. Something special to look forward to. flowers

I've got three engaged children now - one getting married this September, another in September next year, and a 'pending!' No rush - three mum outfits needed and I have no interest at all in dressing up, let alone plonking a hat on! grin

Congrats glamma flowers

The problem with having a few children is that one needs different outfits for each one! DS2 was slightly miffed when I mentioned that I might wear the outfit from DD1's wedding to his! And, they are not the sort of outfit I would normally wear! I don't wear dresses, and dislike jackets so I feel as though it's all a waste of time, money and stress!!

Congrats Glam, I'm sure you'll look the bees knees in whatever you wear! sunshine

I'm envious glammanana I have 6 grandchildren but have never had to choose a hat sad. Many congrats wine

That is wonderful news. My DD1 got around to it after 3 children and it was a lovely day.

My Mum was never a hat person and just got one from a charity shop for a wedding, then took it back afterwards.

I hope she didn't ask for her money back! grin

Mishap I resold mine on e-bay and got double what I paid for it so I was a happy person, mind you I did have a few false starts when I was first looking but all part of the fun.grin
