Is it Henley Hotel, Bigbury-on-sea? Looks lovely.

Oh, how I miss living down in Devon, we used to go to Bigbury quite often and walk over to Burgh Island, and back on the tractor.

Further afield I know, but Portmeirion is different for a visit. We stayed there for my 60th.

If you are considering going a bit further afield, how about this? www.threewayshousehotel.com/ Home of the Pudding Club, in the Cotswolds. I would love it, and they do organized walks too, I think.

This is where my DD and her OH go when they want to chill out ad have a bit of luxury. www.calcotmanor.co.uk/ They do cater for children very well, so if you are anting total peace, the shcool hols might not be the best choice.

Why not pop over to somewhere like St Omer?

MrsJamJam Thu 03-Apr-14 18:36:26

There was a review recently in the Times, I think, of a hotel on the mainland overlooking Burgh Island. It sounded gorgeous, sorry I can't remember the name. I thnk it had been done up recently.

Hours not ours

ninathenana Thu 03-Apr-14 17:46:24

DH and I had decided to book a couple of nights in the art deco hotel on Burge Island next year. Not cheap, but it'll be our ruby anniversary in April '15.
I though I was booking nice and early, but they're full !!! sad
Has anyone any suggestions for a luxury stay no more than a couple of ours from Kent. Preferably not London.

Sorry I guess this should be in travel.
