gillybob Sorry, fumble fingers again. I did mean perhaps we could choose to have double summer time.

gillybob Mon 31-Mar-14 14:34:52

Elegran Mon 31-Mar-14 14:33:12

No I did not, it sounds interesting. One GN I believe puts on sub titles when watching Shetland. She is possibly not the only one.

The NI slang or sometimes normal speech is beyond me.

Soutra Mon 31-Mar-14 14:05:11

I remember aTV prog called "Parliamo Glesca" anybody else see that?

Charleygirl Mon 31-Mar-14 13:18:09

phoenix are yis payin me?

Nonu Mon 31-Mar-14 12:33:42

I like it when we move clocks forward , much quicker for to change all clocks . As I have a superstition about winding clocks back, so have to go all the way round and it takes forever .
Laugh !!

Charleygirl Mon 31-Mar-14 11:29:37

Nae a bad idea, I dinna mind as I unnerstaun most of the lingo in both places. Some of yis maybe scunnered by what I write but there would be a guid explanation. I would have to choose a day or two when my heid is working and yis dinna mind or ken me working with either baffies or backles, I can do it.

I wonder if someone will start producing phrase books..............

gillybob Mon 31-Mar-14 11:08:11

Different time zones and driving on the other side annodomini imagine the chaos at Berwick upon Tweed. smile

annodomini Mon 31-Mar-14 10:44:55

It is, of course, odds on that Scotland would change to driving on the right. grin

annodomini Mon 31-Mar-14 10:23:40

Just trying to imagine the chaos if Scotland and England were in separate time zones. grin

gillybob Mon 31-Mar-14 10:13:15

Choose the what in the South ginny?

The weather, the time, the currency oops sorry.

grin

ginny Mon 31-Mar-14 08:58:13

I love the clocks going forward and look forward to lighter evenings. If only we could have double summer time. Maybe if Scotland becomes independent we will be able to choose the in the south. grin

I hate all this time changing. It always knocks my body clock out for a few days. I slept in this morning as it was an hour later than I thought and now I am not tired but need to go to sleep to get up for work in the morning. confused

absent Sun 30-Mar-14 20:04:09

Ours don't change until next weekend so we are currently twelve hours ahead of the UK and will be 13 hours ahead throughout the UK spring/summer. I have to time my visits to Gransnet quite carefully – otherwise I end up talking to myself (as opposed to MiceElf).

FlicketyB Sun 30-Mar-14 19:59:26

DD was deeply disgruntled by the clock change. She works a shift pattern and was rostered for the early shift today - start time 5.00am.

goldengirl Sun 30-Mar-14 16:52:31

Love it yogagran grin

When told the reason for daylight savings time the Old Indian said, "Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket."

Grannyknot Sun 30-Mar-14 13:22:54

I hate this daylight saving malarkey. It completely throws me and I feel as if I am slightly jetlagged for a few days until my poor body clock catches up with clocks everywhere else! grin

KatyK Sun 30-Mar-14 11:39:17

I told all and sundry not to forget the clocks. Guess who forgot? blush

Lona Sat 29-Mar-14 22:02:04

I don't change the time on the clock in my car..............I just change the car darling!

If you believe that you'll believe anything grin

My oven is the correct time now for the next 6 months!
