Four and twenty fairies went down to London Town

(Shades of Lear!)

And set off to marry in Dorking

They kissed, beak to beak....

With a quack and a squeak

(You got in just before me Nellie )

And planning a dual bit of stalking

While they were out a walking,

A duck and on ostrich were talking

T'was only some silly young Scouse.

(Speech!!)

No time for a speach

The ghost gave a screech

She met an intrepid young mouse

However, when haunting the house,

Which thoroughly frightened the host!

(Withdrawn - way behind the game)

The sexton contralto

And crashing and clangings

There were knockings and bangings,

Twas a lady who haunted the most

She said that her house had a ghost

On the whole it was rather a fun day.

As cuttings fell to the ground

Not a soul was around
