Mine's bum cracks (even children's) when people are supposedly 'dressed', and excessive cleavages. Yuck. The first more than the second, a bit.

Just plain lazy kitty. I wonder what they would think if they saw a row of crouching ladies exposing their nether regions beside the same hedge (ok, don't answer that!) shock

kittylester Wed 19-Mar-14 10:09:34

The men urinating into a hedge were all at a service station on an A road. The road to the cafe and shops went directly behind the men and the bit of verge they were standing on was only about 1.5 metres wide. They had to cross the road to get to the hedge whereas the toilets were next to the place where one pays for petrol.

They were not foreign (foreigners do not appear to flaunt their activities in quite the same way blush) but did appear to be swaying slightly in the breeze and, with them having come from a minibus, I decided they were something like a stag do! (Not that I'm judgmental or anything!!)

Whatever, I was shocked and thought it totally unnecessary!

I do know that people wee, poo, have sex, vomit etc but this was a step too far for me!

Oh Jingl I was just having my shower and mulling over this conversation when it suddenly dawned on me what you meant. I am very sorry for being quite so stupid. Will spend the rest of my day with head in hands, covered in shame flowers

DebnCreme Wed 19-Mar-14 09:29:30

Yes I agree anno. what I was trying to be was perhaps a bit pedantic. On here we are admitting to our prudishness not hiding it.

annodomini Wed 19-Mar-14 09:18:43

Using euphemisms like boobs, tits and willies is a form of prudishness. Call a spade a bloody shovel!

Nelliemoser Wed 19-Mar-14 09:13:39

When I was in Grenoble some years ago the women had to walk to their toilets straight past the men's urinals where their backs were on full view.
DH & DS were rather taken aback by this at first but realised that if they needed a pee they had no choice. Their attitudes had changed by the end of the holiday.

Things may have changed now but I suspect a lot of Europeans have a different attitude to us about this.

As "Thatbags" says peeing into a hedge does no real harm shop doorways are a different matter.
Walking groups often have a ladies or gentlemen forward call to allow this function. It is always a case of "We know where you're going" but it is accepted that you do not turn round.
Last time I was in Greece one set of public toilets were so disgusting I went up into the pine woods.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 19-Mar-14 09:00:57

SAYING !!!!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 19-Mar-14 09:00:44

Not criticising ffff-finn at all. Just slaying.

DebnCreme Wed 19-Mar-14 08:58:57

ffin actually admitted to a 'prudish moment' not hidden at all.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 19-Mar-14 08:56:01

Yes it can be. hmm

DebnCreme Wed 19-Mar-14 08:53:18

Can't be 'hidden prudishness' if it was mentioned on here grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 19-Mar-14 08:51:22

What is wrong with using the word "tit" to describe a breastfeeding breast? It is a derivation of teat. Which is what babies suck on. confused See, to me that reveals hidden prudish-ness. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 19-Mar-14 08:48:28

absent she's definitely "shapely". Maybe not of the page 3 kind though. grin

Love "bare-nakey"! smile

petallus Wed 19-Mar-14 08:38:13

I mean six all lined up together.

thatbags Wed 19-Mar-14 08:37:08

It doesn't disgust me, so long as they have their backs turned. It's probably good for the hedge. Different if they did it onto concrete or tarmac because then the area would get a bit smelly. Onto earth/vegetation, no problem. In some countries that's the only option for many people. I'm not saying that's ideal, but it doesn't disgust me.

I had to let some Cubs urinate behind trees last weekend because they were "bursting" and traipsing back with ten other kids to where there were toilets wasn't an option, neither was leaving the ten others and traipsing with one. Males are lucky that it's so easy. Even with a shewee, it isn't so easy for females.

petallus Wed 19-Mar-14 08:36:21

kittylester were the six peeing men 'foreign'?

I only ask because it seems like unusual behaviour for our own dear blokes.

baubles Wed 19-Mar-14 08:33:17

aren't not isn't

baubles Wed 19-Mar-14 08:32:19

I've been struggling to think what my prudery is. Nakedness doesn't bother me in the slightest and a lot of the dislikes described on here isn't really prudery.

It has just come to me though that I am slightly offended by the sight of female genitalia outlined by too tight leggings - the camel toe effect. Is that prudish of me?

merlotgran Wed 19-Mar-14 08:31:40

Not defending the disgusting practice though.

merlotgran Wed 19-Mar-14 08:31:01

At least it's bio-degradable, unlike litter angry

janeainsworth Wed 19-Mar-14 08:17:37

Yes that disgusts me too Kitty.
My American DiL lived in Britain for 18 months and one of the things she disliked most was people urinating in public places.
There is no defence and I felt ashamed, angry and sad that this was Britain in the 21st century.

kittylester Wed 19-Mar-14 07:38:31

I was shocked to see six men lined up against a hedge urinating while someone else refuelled their minibus. There were toilets approx twenty metres away! shock

ffinnochio Wed 19-Mar-14 07:34:21

Scrap that. No, it wasn't feeling prudish, just intense irritation.

ffinnochio Wed 19-Mar-14 07:28:09

I had a prudish moment just now, when checking out another thread.
Using the word 'tit' deliberately to describe breasts.

absent Wed 19-Mar-14 00:13:59

I think prudery refers to an over-reaction to nudity or something sexual, so I would suggest that a dislike, even a loathing, of porn or sexual innuendo in a motto on a child's tee shirt is not prudish but perfectly reasonable. A dislike of tattoos or piercings, on the other hand (foot, face, back, ears or belly), is just that – a dislike. Jingl walking around naked might offend a prude or, depending on how shapely she is, an aesthete. I can't say it bothers me – and why should it?. I live in a one-storey house, without central heating and have a snuggly bath robe. In any case, I don't think Mr absent would notice me much whether I were bare-nakey (grandchildren's word) or wearing a burka.
