Soop's in her kitchen, all's right with the world.

Charleygirl Wed 28-May-14 13:58:42

It is no time since the kitchen was last extended- do we talk too much?!

soop Wed 28-May-14 12:36:59

By the way...kitchen extension being extended yet again. We shall need to move in to it very soon. Shall we call it soop's kitcheners? I rather like that name. Was it suggested by Agus or Bella? Cannot recall at the moment. I've a bottle of bubbly put to one side...whoever it is that cuts the tartan ribbon will have the first glass.

In the meantime, I have a painting waiting. wink

soop Wed 28-May-14 12:30:18

...back from a brief conflab with MacSporran. Am having difficulty painting a Pomeranian...two on the board at present. The deceased dog's photo is far too vague. I cannot work out what's going on around the muzzle. Dog also has it's eyes closed...hmm Onward and all that...wink

AlieO I'm delighted to hear that you are feeling more positive. sunshine

AlieOxon Wed 28-May-14 12:10:51

That was to anno...but you have them too soop...

AlieOxon Wed 28-May-14 12:09:46

Eek!

soop Wed 28-May-14 12:09:33

Good morning to my lovely Gransnetters. It is warm and sunny and moist and midgey...

Agus when you come across a bucket full of Sin So Soft...please send it by carrier pigeon. I did have some last year. I used to work for Avon HQ way back in the 60s. It was a super job. grin

Back in a mo'

annodomini Wed 28-May-14 11:24:37

The West Highland midges go right down to the water's edge, Alie. I remember clambering onto the rocks near Arisaig to try to escape them, and failing - coming to the conclusion that the only place to avoid them was under water. Of course, if they evolve as swimmers...

AlieOxon Wed 28-May-14 11:10:48

Here!
Rosequartz have you caught up with the typig yet?

AlieOxon Wed 28-May-14 11:09:18

soop I am staying positive and have just sent relevant sections of a legal document to local councillor....I HATE legalese but have had suspicions confirmed her!

Seen midges only once in Scotland, in the hills above Gatehouse-of-Fleet (many summer holidays and no midges by the sea).
Horrifying! We didn't get out of the car, but some of them got in!

annodomini Tue 27-May-14 22:37:49

One can dream, Agus!

Agus Tue 27-May-14 21:58:15

Hoi, behave yourself Mrs. On second thoughts, why should you? grin

annodomini Tue 27-May-14 21:52:43

I like the idea of 'Sin so Soft', Agus. Sounds like fun. grin

Agus Tue 27-May-14 21:52:18

Aaaargh, SKIN so Soft. The other one is a personal choice of course grin blush

Agus Tue 27-May-14 21:49:10

Your secret is safe with me Soop. wink grin An easy mistake though when they are the same breed.

If you haven't used it already, definitely try and get a hold of the Avon, Sin so Soft.

rosequartz Tue 27-May-14 21:15:15

grin

AlieOxon Tue 27-May-14 21:12:20

Now I have a vision of a 'typig'....with trotters on the keys....

rosequartz Tue 27-May-14 21:02:33

Bellasnana, I don't know what to say except to echo what everyone else has said so eloquently flowers and so glad your DH's biopsy was clear.

Alie, congratulations you must be a very young GGM! I do hope your cat trimmed the edges as well.

Must finish the post, have been having trouble with the Internet all day, it is taking ages to catch up with my typig which is not fast on this tab.

Good wishes to all in the kitchen

AlieOxon Tue 27-May-14 16:42:20

Everything please!
Family have been trying to send pictures of the new arrival in email from an Ipad to my PC, but it isn't working. I should see my youngest grandson tomorrow with pics, but meanwhile has anyone any idea why they don't arrive?

annodomini Tue 27-May-14 16:31:19

Afternoon tea: freshly made scones and lemon/lime curd. Earl Grey anyone?

soop Tue 27-May-14 14:09:13

bags MacSporran may wish to make note of your midge jacket. He ventured outside earlier today, needed to finish some painting of window sills. Was forced to abandon the task. Midges everywhere...bitten to a frazzle! shock

Now then, because I love you lot and know that you won't take the micky, I shall tell you what happened this morning. I arrived at my pal's house to attend to her pile of ironing. I had a painting of a wee dog to give her. As she looked at it, she sighed, 'Oh, this is Fergus...and it's beautiful...' I replied, 'No, it's Lachlan...' confused After a very long moment of being totally bemused, I saw that she was right... I had painted (from a photo) the wrong member of her Pomeranian family. Heck! blush Anyway, she's thrilled and wants to frame said portrait of Fergus. I now need to go back to the drawing board and do my best with a likeness of Lachlan.

Daft as a brush...me!

Yes, numberplease, I have a head net but last year I bought a midge jacket. It's like a kagoul but made of midge-proof net and it includes a hood and a zip-uppable face cover. I find it more comfortable than the head net and it stops the blighters getting down your neck and up your sleeves.

So sorry Bella to hear of your further family health problems, I do hope there will be favourable results. Thinking of you all.

Soop, I`ve only ever been to Kintyre in July and August, and we must have been very lucky, because we saw not a single midgie, although they ate me alive at Loch Lomond a few years ago, that was in July. Bags, do you wear one of those hats with the net over? I was tempted to buy one at Loch Lomond, but then didn`t.

DebnCreme Mon 26-May-14 18:42:41

Sorry to hear of your added problems Bella but pleased about MrB's results. (((hugs))) and flowers from me too.

Lovely to hear your news Alli many congratulations to you all flowers

annodomini Mon 26-May-14 18:32:56

Scottish midges trump mosquitoes of no matter what nationality when it comes to being a nuisance. But at least they don't carry malaria, yellow fever or dengue.

Agus Mon 26-May-14 18:26:44

Oh help Soop. Sounds as if a dozen machines might be needed. But living in such a beautiful area makes it easy to put up with for a while I'm sure.

Don't know what is worse, midges versus mosquitoes which is what we had to contend with living in France!

We had a plug in small zapper type machine (it had a blue light which attracted them) outside Dusty and it was very effective plus plug ins with tablets inside. A new tablet was put into the plug every evening and binned in the morning.
