It is Heckmondwike, by the way, a very typical West Riding mill town. Just remembered the school song:

Sounded absolutely awful, and no doubt my big brother had some rude words to it but I've long forgotten them. The school motto was 'nil sine labore; ie 'nothing without work', or 'nowt baht graft' in dialect. Typical Yorkshire sentiment. In fact the school itself looked like a Victorian mill from the outside.
