I'm just coming in with some lovely scones made from a GF mix - I think they are ok - what do you all think? Some tea and a sit down looking at the sea is in order, I think. Anyone else like some?
I've just had a bit of a run in with the 12 year old pharmacist in our village Boots. I took a prescription in to on Saturday and was told she didn't think they could get the eye drops but to come back on Monday and everything would be ready. DH went to collect this afternoon and was told that 'good news', they had the eye drops. Unfortunately, they couldn't get the pessaries for my vaginitis but to keep calling back.
I went back to Boots and was told that she realised that it was 'a bit inconvenient' and that I couldn't have the prescription to take somewhere else as some of it had been dispensed but to keep calling back. GGGRRRRR 
i am well aware that this is the wrong place to keep away from food, but please save me from myself. GD has been visiting Manchester for a get-together with old friends and was too hung over to go out to lunch yesterday! This morning I took her to the local garden centre for morning coffee which, in her case, was a bacon butty and hot chocolate and I had, for my sins, a gigantic scone with butter and jam to go with my Earl Grey. After all I couldn't leave her to eat alone. Then I went out to lunch with my creative writing group where I had delicious sea bass, luckily not calorie packed. I had the good sense to eschew the wonderful chocolate desert consumed by some of the others. But... I do feel absolutely stuffed and mustn't eat another thing. Is the kettle on? I could do with a

I am here cooling off after posting the only really angry post I have ever put here! About my neighbours.
I'm in a sort of limbo because I realised when the workmen clearing next door garden left today, I don't now know if they are continuing! So I feel very edgy.
I could do with a too. And lots of whatever 
is available today!
anno I know just how you feel! I've been out ( well, after tomorrow's lunch) for four meals (all delicious) in six days!

I've had some fruit and a dose of Gaviscon. 
Just popping in quickly because I may be away for a couple of days. OH is having an operation tomorrow and as the plan is for him to return home same day I shall have to don my nursing uniform (no I have never been a nurse) and be a good little quite big wifey. Brought in some home made bread for your breakfast tomorrow. Hope you enjoy

LizG your bread is delicious. Have had a tasty ham sandwich and pot of coffee. Been ironing [for my friend] all morning. When I arrived,the clothes basket was piled precariously high. After two hours and fifty five minutes precisely, every item had been pressed and put on hangers.
anno the offerings on yesterday's menu were fat too scrummy to resist. You did right to sample the lot some. 
kitty I used to work in a small, family owned pharmacy in Cornwall. The pharmacist would have pulled out all the stops to secure your prescription in good time. You've every right to be spitting tacks.

I've been doing my pal's ironing. It took two hours and fifty five minutes to complete. When MacSporran came to collect me, he was sad. He had witnessed a deer being hit by a car on the road to the village. He carried on into the village to notify a man who helps to put such creatures out of their misery [by shooting it.] MacSporran is a gentle man. Such episodes upset him greatly.
How sad for you and MacSporran,*soop*. At least he was able to make sure that the deer didn't suffer for long.
I've brought you all some avocados, They will be just right for tomorrow's lunch, or tonight's supper 
And I've brought some almond blossom, it's so beautiful at the moment and if it's a grey sky out side a sprig on the table is very uplifting.
I can cut as much as I want when it's virtual, so everyone hep your selves.
dustyangel the almond blossom will certainly cheer us all. Thank you. We both enjoy avocados. Funny thing is, whenever we buy any "eat now" from the supermarket, we often find that they are never fully ripened - even a couple of days later. Do you store in the fridge? Is that where we're going wrong?
I'm so thankful that it was not MacSporran's car that hit the deer. Witnessing the accident was bad enough. He would have been in bits had he done the damage. There are so many forests in this area. The deer cross the road to reach the lush verges. We have seen them make their way on to the beach...not a good place to roam.

Charleygirl Rory has been waiting patiently at the foot of the loft ladder. MacSporran has at last joined him. Guess what? MacT picked Rory up and carried him through to the sitting room. A first!
Cats are funny creatures, Charleygirl and Rory is funnier than most.
