Soop's Extended Extension.

I've a vast pile of ironing to tackle. I shall do so with half an eye on the Olympics. If you hear a shrieks [of despair] it will be me getting cross with those wretched pixels. Do you think that the problem could be connected with weather conditions. Do any of my Granspals suffer from the same disjointed picture on the screen? The problem comes and goes. Back later to report on events.

Still watching the curling. I know it is not one of the great spectator sports but hey, we are good at it! Admiring the flexibility of the participants and remembering that quite elderly rellies in Scotland are and were keen curlers. I just couldn't get myself down there, or if down certainly not up again!

Soutra ...that would be my problem too.

So far, so good with watching the ice dancing. Absolutely stunning...the step sequences, the lifts, the interpretation of the music. I love watching the grace and expertise of all the contestants. The costume designs are a work of art.

I particularly liked the "twizzles"!! (DH thought I was being patronising when I first used the term and then he realised they are actually called that!!)

Oh but this is a wee haven. I haven't been on site much today and have just had a trawl through and bitchiness is rearing its ugly face in a place or two plus some very depressing dysfunctionality. So many problems and (in some cases) so little understanding.

Wow! Charlie White and Meryl made my afternoon. Their performance was mesmerising. The beautiful music brought a lump to my throat. In my mind's eye, our Wee Man may well grow up to look a lot like Charlie.

It's a very pleasant day in bonnie Kintyre. We've been for a wander. I have taken a few photographs and may add the best to my album later.

MacSporran is sorting through the logs and stacking them neatly in the shed. Rory is keeping him company.

I always thought that 'twizzles' were something kids used to have for school lunches, made from the unmentionable parts of turkey.

When at primary school, three friends [including me] put a farthing into the kitty. We bought a penny gobstopper from the village sweetshop and shared it! Seemed both sensible and civilised at the time...

Soop, that`s nowhere near as bad as what I used to do, the thought of it now makes me shudder! I wasn`t allowed chewing gum, so when I saw it squashed flat on the pavement after someone had finished with it, I`d scrape it up and have a good old chew of it! YUCK!!!!

I KNOW, but when I was little, and chewing gum was the forbidden fruit, it never occurred to me that it was a yucky idea! I survived anyway.

Had a busy day celebrating my 64th birthday. Just a lovely day with family. DD1 baked a beautiful cake, everyone at ours and GD's high with excitement being involved preparing Granny's birthday. Finished off our 'party' dancing to When I'm 64 by the Fab Four. A lovely memory.

Think I mentioned in the 'kitchin' before. A friend and I who has a GD at the same nursery as my GD were invited to sing or recite traditional Scottish nursery songs/rhymes to pass on to the children. Our finale was Ally bally, all the children knew that one and raised the roof belting it out.
