Hi everyone. soop so glad you're back.

I remember a few years back a little friend of mine went to help in the garden next door, picking up grass cuttings - and she found a gold ring!
It had been lost by my neighbour's daughter several years before, and she was so pleased to get it back, and my little friend got £10 as a reward.
Hope yours turns up too.

Went to the doctor's, didn't see my usual GP, but have been put back on steroids for the colitis.....I have had a course before and didn't like them, but I can't remember why now! No doubt I will soon find out....

harrigran Our bin is enormous. I must ask Mr S if he's thought of rootling through the veg peelings. Mr S is really upset. I would so love to happen across it and slip it back on to his finger.

soop when DH lost his wedding ring we found it in the bin that holds the garden clippings, luckily we decided to upend it on the patio before the truck arrived. I was cross because it was an engraved platinum ring, that I gave him on our Ruby anniversary, and thought he should have removed it or worn gloves.

No sign of the ring. It WILL be discovered. I shall never cease to look in the unlikeliest places. Especially after the stories from other Granspals who have lost a precious item.

Still very blustery in Kintyre. Sea is choppy and a greenish grey. Islands are hidden. Like the ring, they will present themselves in due course.

DH and I are In Inverary just now, in The George, having an aperetif before the arrival of Donald's delicious steak pie followed by his delicious sticky toffee pudding. Yum.

Yes, Marelli it, like Campbeltown, has benefitted from a super refurbishment and is really rather smart. A group of ladies sat around a table and blethered/chuckled umpteen to the dozen. Rather like we Granspals do when we get a chance.

It is good to be back. My Granspals matter to me.

Thank you for all the hints regarding where the ring may be lurking. We make a point of searching in the most unlikely places. I feel that it will re-appear. It would make Mr S's day if I placed it on his finger.

I drove into Campbeltown. It amazes me to think that for over eleven years I have considered myself to be a non-driver. I really enjoy the experience, especially now that Mr S appears to be so relaxed that he nods off. It was a different story on my first outing.

We went to The Royal for lunch. My appetite has some recovering to do. I only managed half of the main course and didn't want to look at the pud menu. Have lost about 8lbs. Just as well as I've no inclination to mount the exercise bike, let alone pedal away for 20 mins.

It isn't snowy here. It is very blustery and the wind is coming fro a NE direction. The spume from the waves as they hit the shore is flying around like soap suds. All very dramatic.

Keep warm and safe. Help yourselves to some warm mince pies and a warming brew. xxx

Hi soop. Welcome home, it's good to know you are so much better and Mister soop too. I wish I could send you some of my from the Antipodes. I am sure the ring will turn up in some unexpected place. My Mum once lost her wedding ring while wrapping Christmas presents; it eventually turned up at the bottom of a carrier bag.

Has mr soop been wearing gloves in the cold weather - you could check inside the gloves or in his pockets as the ring might have slipped off there. We too have a happy ending wedding ring story. MIL came up to help after I had youngest DD and in the course of the week she realised the ring was gone - we looked everywhere inside and out, asked in the local shops, checked in the car and other likely places but without success. Shortly before we moved out of London 3 years later, my cleaner spotted a glint of something between the floorboards (we had polished the original floorboards and they were a bit "gappy") Sure enough, it was MIL's ring - So do not give up hope. Alternatively a new one could make a lovely anniversary present - make an honest man of him even!!!
