It's funny I find when you catch bus or train after running and find a seat and attempt to look cool, calm and collected. Like, this wasn't a problem, running

I've reached episode 6 of Broadchurch and still haven't been told whodidit; although they were playing it in Sainsburys today when I was there [but the S.O. and I both agreed that they wouldn't be daft enough to show the end..not if they wanted to seel the dvd's anyway]. And I've just realised I bought Laura Marlings new cd there today and it's in my bag and I haven't played it yet. Ferret isn't mine; I've been told of a ferret man in the next village. Not sure who he is but perhaps I can sniff him out ?
Feeling totally cheerful this morning .....
my rescue spaniel (a new companion for young spaniel who has gone blind) has been with me a month, and her recall has been hopeless ......she dawdled behind on every walk, sniffing for extended periods while I stood and called until I was hoarse.
Finally had enough this morning, as it was drizzling, and (murmuring b*** you then) carried on walking around the corner into the next field.
Cue: one dog running after me at full speed
Moral of the story: patience may be a virtue, but not when you have a very intelligent dog!

My sister is happy, her sock has reappeared a week after being eaten by her puppy! She doesn't plan on re-uniting it with its partner. The surgical glove took 24 hours to re-emerge.

After my mammogram this afternoon (!) DD, DGD1 and I are off to see "The Great Gatsby" followed by an Italian meal. DD is 48 tomorrow! (Same age as our marriage
Then, off to France on Thursday on the Plymouth to Roscoff ferry, on which we have booked a "de luxe" cabin...

I've found the 100 euros that DH lost over the weekend. It was at the FRONT of his bedside drawer 
I stopped 6 snails on their march towards my hostas. I got soaked in the process but it was worth it!
However, I didn't manage to stop the ones making for the coriander in my new herb bed and, had I known they were as partial to the stuff as we are, I would have continued to buy it from Sainsbury's rather than planting 3 lots in the garden 
My hostas near the pool never get eaten but the ones at the side of the house do. I'm told grit puts the slugs off but I use slug killer!
Reasons to be cheerfull:
GS2 took 2 steps, stopped to clap himself then took 2 more. Now he is walking around looking bemused!
I put grass seed down at the weekend and it is raining on it.
The ornamental grasses we dug out will not dry out so I have time to give them away on Freecycle.
Being taken out to dinner tonight by friends because it was my birthday last week
Went to the gym this morning and managed to up the weights on most machines
I seem to have quite a list today
The fact that I am in North America and the sun is shining and touch wood we have dodged the Tornado"s so far .

My reason to be happy is we have chosen our retired greyhound and she will be coming home in 3 weeks time, once we are back from our hols
