Poor Bags, hope you're not too sore tomorrow - at least it's Sunday.
I spent most of the day up to my ankles in water. Washing the kitchen floor. I couldn't understand why, mop as I might, there was more not less water lapping around my soggy slippers. Then I discovered there was a crack in my bucket!! I seem to remember giving it a sharp smack on the outside wall to dislodge some grit, that must have done it. What was that song? By Harry Belafonte was it?

Thank you, peeps! Lesson learned – I won't try to carry too much at once in future!

learner, sorry but I had to at your story! If you were a neighbour of mine, you could have one of my mop buckets. For some reason I have three! I remember buying a second one when DH had to rent a bungalow for himself for a short time with a new job, but I've no idea why I have three!

We have had one of those relatively rare things - a trip to London for pleasure - hospitals featuring nowhere. We went to see "One Man, Two Guv'nors" at The Haymarket which DH has wanted to see for about 2 years but until he got his pension we just haven't been able to afford to book tickets which we might never use, as so much gets cancelled due to his health. Well, took the plunge and achieved it by dint of train and taxis and even managed a meal at an Italian just up from the theatre. It was very very funny and we laughed until our cheeks ached! Thought it was doomed earlier in the week when he was ill again and then again when he came over dizzy at MK station while I was parking the car, but felt bloody minded and got there!

DS and GD were at Housesteads roman fort today and she wanted her dad to buy her a crossbow He posted a photo of her on FB wearing toga and carrying shield and sword. DS felt he would be spending time in A&E if he indulged her especially if her sister annoyed her.

Many years ago, before people had mobiles my ex-boss's DH bought a new part for his crossbow and unable to contain himself until the next club night, drove up to the club's hut on a lonely moor to try it out - all by himself, totally against all the rules. Somehow or other he managed to shoot an arrow through his hand and had no choice but to drive himself to casualty with the arrow still in place. His DW then got an alarming message from the hospital saying, 'Please come immediately, your husband has shot himself!' He seemed to think he had been heroic or at least stoic - everyone else though he was an idiot

That sounds like it hurt baggy, hope you are not too sore. It is the sort of thing I do, I stood on a plastic chair to get something for my GD last week and one of the legs of the chair collapsed and I fell on her. Later that day I hit my toe on the corner of a concrete step. It went blood red and I think it was bleeding internally, the day before I slipped in a hole and twisted my ankle. I too am a klutz.

Our student grandson has won two first-class airline tickets to Barbados. He and his mate are jumping for joy.
Men stopped by the house yesterday and within half an hour were power hosing the external walls and paths. Wow! The difference is amazing. All the weather-streaked drabness has disappeared. We feel confident that, when it comes to sell, the house will be at it's best. Hope to hear from the builder this coming week.

Put baby's towel in washing machine, set it goig----

I think it will, jeni. Depends how much water is in there though.

I think the answer is yes, jeni. I'd keep it closed until someone can fix it.

The door may not even open if it is mid-cycle. Read your user guide, it may say how to open it when it seizes up. If you put all the old towels you can find on the floor around it, and hold a washing up bowl (square-edged, not round) tight up against it, under the door, you might catch most of the water if it does all cascade out.

Could you phone a plumber for advice this evening? You never know, they might rush out to help, or come tomorrow evening while you are home?

I'm assuming the drain only facility isn't working?
