Seems ages since we had a quiet corner bolt hole, so how about a new seasonal one ?
Just a little spot to come and visit from time to time and re-charge batteries. Nothing heavy or serious ever happens in here, it's a place for bantering and smiling.
If it's a Grotto, maybe a few twinkly lights over the entrance? Plenty of squishy sofas for relaxing. I've left a plate of mince pies on the table and a flask of hot chocolate, so help yourselves.
Does anyone have any nice scented candles?
I'm curling up on the sofa tonight.All the beds are taken up and I can't face another night with the snorting snorer 
I am staying at son's house and laying on the couch. Their street is having a street party and I have to admit when DIL said come out I declined. They all look like they are 30s to 40s and I am full from the nice lunch we had and not bothered making chit chat to people who all know each other. If I eat one more thing I won't be able to eat Christmas lunch tomorrow. No offering me a mince pie, I am such a guts with no resistance, I would probably eat it.

I've already been out for a couple of very last minute bits and now it's nearly time to put the sprouts on 
I should stop lazing about here and do a few things. I had to laugh when GS4 wanted to wake his mother up who was having a sleep (there are a few of us staying over at sons for Christmas) and I told GS4 not to wake his Mum and baby sister up. He was edging towards the door and I told him Father Christmas wouldn't bring him presents tonight. He looked at me crossly and said 'Grandma, you are so old, so old.'

Just popping in to say that I've had a great time recouping in here but will be really busy from now on. Hopefully the grotto won't dissolve before Boxing Day because I'm sure we could all do with a bit of relaxation by then.

Just popping in for a bracing coffee before the challenge of the supermarket for the last few fresh things. Then back home to ice the biscuits and prepare tomorrow's veg! Don't tell me they are more nutritious done just before cooking, I know that, this is the only time in the year I do it!
Then setting the dining table for tomorrow, a shower and then its CHRISTMAS!
If I don't get back in later today I wish you all a very, very happy Christmas doing whatever gives you pleasure.
PS, have to collect tennis ball from a friend when we are out - don't ask!

Rushing around like idiots, probably, Moved - we're not all as super-organised as you! I've been doing a last-minute vacuum and will have to go and clean the basin in the downstairs loo as OH washes his oily hands in there after fixing car bits and it looks permanently grubby....
In the New Year when the Grotto season is over, shall we change the name of this place to the Grotty?
No notso let's find a nice cheerful name for it. . Things have been so much nicer on GN the last couple of weeks, it would be great if we could keep it up.
Perhaps some of you have suggestions?
Mine is The Hidey Hole but I am sure there are much better ideas.

Just made a last minute choccie log for the little'ies. Got one paper chain hanging from a single drawing pin which needs sorting out. Then just got to locate the pressies from various cupboards. And that's me done!
