I agree, all my children are my favourite, but they all have different characteristics and attributes and my relationship with them all is different for obvious reasons. As they grow older our relationship changes and matures and in some ways they are becoming the movers and shakers and I gradually, especially recently, sit back and let them take over which is quite a good feeling.

This'll put the cat among the pigeons! This Canadian father has caused uproar by claiming he has a favourite son, and naming him. There has been a massive reaction, but he claims 95% of parents have a favourite, too.
My view is that even if he has a favourite, he should have kept it to himself, as both sons will most likely be adversely affected by what he has done.
All my children are my favourites, and some days I favour one over the others, knowing the balance will be redressed. They know it, too. They like to wind each other up by saying 'you do know I'm the favourite, don't you?'
