Things son-in-laws say!

My SIL had changed the baby's nappy (and it was a nuclear nappy!!) and managed to get a little on his shirt. He changed his shirt and when he came down stairs, he told my daughter that he had put the shirt in the wash. When she queried 'in the wash' and he said 'well, on the floor' We both roared with laughter.

The same SIL was in bed with both children and my daughter. The baby was pulling at his hair and my granddaughter was sitting on his chest repeating 'daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy' as only a 3 yr old can. My daughter said his eyes were closed and seemed oblivious to it all. She said he seems to have a default switch that turns off when she's around and he ignores everything concerning the children. hmm hmm hmm

My OH is a brilliant dad who idolises his children and has had to fight tooth and nail for access. When they first started coming to stay he was awake at the slightest sound they made and was constantly checking on them. Now, although he still gets up with them first (step-mums do not do 6am on a Sunday morning...well I don't lol) I wake up to the sounds and then wake him up smile I surface around 7am btw not mid morning smile

So I agree I think men have an off switch and once they feel secure that the mum/stepmum will hear the children they flick the off switch smile
