Present ideas for diamond wedding anniversary?

Yes kitty lester we've done a couple of these photo albums.
The hardest part was assembling all the photos.
The first one we did was for our eldest DGD for her 18th-mostly online so relatively easy.
Next one for her Mum, our DD1. Harder as about half her photos were in old albums so had to be scanned in.
We split it into years, it worked very well.
For our next DGD's 18th we're going to try to start with photos of her grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents with as many dates (of birth, marriage etc) so the photo of her birth will be several pages in-I hope!

Just remembered that my brother did a book of photos for Mum's 85 birthday. He scanned in photos of her, her parents,her brother, her wedding day, everything, including certificates, up to the present day. Mum spends ages looking at it now. The company was myphotobook.co.uk and it was brilliant.

Annobel - sorry to put a damper on your 'find old friends' idea but when my sister and I tried to do this for our Uncle's 90th Birthday we discovered that he was the sole surviving member of his group of friends.

For our 40th Anniversary our DDs put together a DVD with photos from our childhoods, through our courtship, the wedding, their own births and childhoods, etc. all set to some of our favourite music. We have been promised an update for our Golden Wedding to include the 3DGC who have arrived since our Ruby Wedding.

For my parents in law's Golden anniversary we (all four sons and their families) made them a (quite big) hamper with lots of Gold things in - eg Golden Syrup, Golden Shred Marmalade, Terry's All Gold chocolates, Nescafe Gold Blend coffee but also included other things that were gold/yellow in colour eg bathroom towels, a new tray etc. They had great fun opening everything and most of it was useful in one way or another. Diamond stuff might be trickier!!

If you Google 'Diamond Jubilee Rose' you will find that it does exist. But perhaps they live in a retirement flat and don't do gardening. How about throwing a big family party and trying to find old friends they haven't seen for ages?

My SiL & her 3 sisters did a studio photo of the family for a 50th. Was fully appreciated!

My thinking is that after 60 years of marriage they probably have more "stuff" than they know what to do with - so a holiday or short cruise , or a multi-generation week(end) away might be appreciated.I am sure I am not alone in treasuring time with my children and DGC more than anything else. MIL might enjoy a spa day with the female members of the family while FIL has a chaps' day out e.g. at a test match or the golf (how sexist am I?)

There is a very nice David Austin rose called Golden Celebration - but they would need room in a garden.

A crystal chandelier? They come in all shapes and sizes, light fitting or table lamp, modern or traditional.
