OH had a stroke two years ago and suffers anxiety as a result. Going away always brings on a panic attack even though he no longer drives and doesn't have to plan anything or do the packing. We stayed in Devon over Christmas and I still don't know how I managed to get him there. The funny thing is once he's arrived the anxiety disappears and he's the life and soul
Hope you have a well deserved break, mishap and your OH benefits from getting away. sunshine

Hope you got there safely and that mr M is able to relax and enjoy his holiday - and of course you too. has he got a sinus infection perhaps? I suffer from sinuses and when I have an infection it feels as though all my upper teeth are infected too, and so painful? Stres of course plays havoc with your system.
Thinking of you - hope you can send good news soon.

Well - car is nearly packed and we are planning to go - but poor man is in dreadful pain with the teeth. I have downloaded a list of dentists where we are going and if needs be we will have to tap into this or emergency dental services if he cannot last out the weekend.

I am beginning to wonder whether his PD drugs are to blame - I know it sounds illogical, but over the last few months he has had problems with just about every tooth in his head - it must be awful. Add to that progression of PD and he is quite reasonably not happy - let's hope he will get some joy from being by the sea - we have rented a cabin almost on the beach so there will be no travelling needed to enjoy the sea - fingers crossed!

I would suggest:- be firm!
What do you want to do?
ThenN
Go for it!

Anagram Fri 25-May-12 22:11:43

Sympathy, Mishap - my OH has similar anxiety problems although not the PD. I know sometimes it doesn't seem worth the hassle to go away - but it may do you both the world of good. I hope things go well. smile

Thank you lovely ladies!

Ariadne Fri 25-May-12 22:06:52

Fingers crossed for you Mishap. Are you going far?

Two days before my DH was due to fly out to Burkina Faso some years ago (more irrigation/ water projects) he developed toothache, swollen face and all. I think it was anti biopics and sheer ** minded ness that cured it sufficiently!

But yours is a much more difficult position, and you are the one dealing with it all. If you don't go, will he feel guilty and even more worried?

Have a good night's sleep - if you can, and see what tomorrow brings, eh? Meanwhile (((hugs)))

glassortwo Fri 25-May-12 22:06:39

.mishap I cant say go, you know best how your DH is likely to handle being away from home, but you maybe right to get him away from home may take his mind of things, and the break will do you both some good flowers

Ella46 Fri 25-May-12 22:06:33

Oh Mishap what a shame. Such a dilemma for you. I have no experience of this so I'm sending ((hugs)) and best wishes. I'm sure you will do the right thing. flowers

Off on a week's hols tomorrow - OH is in anxiety overdrive; poor chap has deterioration in his PD and is quite weak - and on new meds; he's had weeks of dental problems culminating in several root fillings and a wisdom tooth out - and today the dental pain has started elsewhere and he is in a bad way. Do we go or do we stay?

This morning he was so anxious about the journey that he decided the car had a slow puncture and I had to take it to the garage for them to check it out - I sat there for over an hour for nothing - it was fine; it was just his anxiety. We're not going very far.

I don't know what to do - he might be better off to go and take his mind off it all - well who knows? Watch this space.
