Annobel Funny you should mention spinal anaesthetic. I elected to have one prior to the right hip surgery. Sat for ages in the prep room waiting for the numbness to spread. Nothing of the kind happened. Surgeon popped his head round the door and instructed the anaesthetist to put the patient under...so I had both!

Not much chance of getting to lie flat on your back, super, the physios will be round to get you on your feet pronto. Are you having a spinal anaesthetic? I heard a story of a wee wifie who was having a hip op and could hear the sounds of banging and sawing. 'Have you got the joiner in today?' she asked, drowsily.

Annobel half a dozen top class consultants and a few doctors have agreed to alter their busy schedules. At the last count I estimate that we'll have one each...so no need for unseemly scraps in the laundry room

Happy to report that there is plenty of dishy doc talent at the posh hospital...have booked a sound-proof suite for partytime. Being admitted next weekend. Keep making vodka jellies and other naughty goodies...can't have too much of a good thing In the meantime, I have a portrait to paint. Lovely day in every way

have had my nails painted a vibrant pink,cut my toenails and had them painted too in readiness for the sandals,shaved my legs and took the rough skin from my heels,my feet are ready for spring and summer

Busy day!

Somebody accessed my online bank account and tried to transfer money into their own account. Fortunatly the bank picked up on it, as I had a trojan virus on my pc!!! My PC was pretty old and everything disappeared, nothing it had died. Wasn't worth having it fixed, so have now a new laptop, which I am fiddling with, its all new to me. Its Windows 7 so no Outlook Express, I thought I had lost all my email addresses, until I looked at my Virgin account which also store my emails, thinking they were all lost and found to my utter amazement that I had 11,000 emails on there from about 7 years ago!!!
My eldest Son arrived today from Australia for 10 days,which is lovely. I also mowed the lawn.

Good news Syberia. My DD1 had very grumpy days when pregnant but was always rational enough to recognise it and often apologised with a hug! Will be following your family's news with even greater interest now that my DD2 and her girlfriend have announced their engagement!

jingl, would you like me to send you some litter tray contents? or, alternatively, you could send me your torn up stuff, and I could mix it in with the litter tray contents!

TIP when ripping up your bank statements, credit card stuff etc, if you don't have access to a shredder, or haven't bought a pair of those special scissors advertised in the brochures/catalogues that fall out when you get your prefered publication........

Most A4 stuff will hand shred better if you rip it from the top, in thin strips. (Most people go for the rip it in half, then half again, then half again etc.)

It's a bit difficult to describe in writing, but give it a try and hopefully you will see what I mean.

phoenix, we have had some trouble with identity theft this week. Had to cut up cards and get new ones. I'm wondering now if I've been a little bit lax about shredding everything!

Today I sorted out my clothes, and now have two bags to take to The Red Cross. The one good thing to come out of having had all our possessions thrown on the floor by burglars six weeks ago is that we just have too much stuff, so my cupboards are really pared down and looking good This afternoon I waited for hours in the technical help department of our local John Lewis store, and finally the patient young man there, talked me through the problem I have with my Ipad, or rather it has with me! I think that department should have a name change to BBB, Bothered Bewildered and Befuddled. There were a lot of desperate people in there waiting for help.

Lovely day, I sat in the sun for an hour or two and got a bit of colour!

Today I have mostly been a human shredder.

The shredded stuff will be mingled with the contents of the cat litter trays. Piece that together, any intended indenity thief cads!

Gally, the haar has hung about all day, even here, further in from the coast - barring a few brief glimpses of sunshine. It's really cold here now! Glad you had a good wee kip!

Feel quite pleased with myself as have moved the compost bin and all it's contents to a less conspicuous part of the garden. Only took me three days!
Also have had a lovely telephone chat with my pregnant daughter, lots of laughter, so that is BRILLIANT after all the difficult grumpy conversations we have had.

After lunch I was waiting for the haar to lift and the sun to come out so I could venture into the garden for some more back-breaking weeding - but I missed it; fell asleep for an hour and in comes the haar again. Oh well, I obviously needed the kip

I've been trying to get to the library! Just about to put my shoes on when old workmate appeared at the door. I'm going to be very unkind now, and say he can 'bore for Britain'. He came in, said he wouldn't be stopping, especially as he could see I was getting ready to go out....2 hours later he eventually left . Husband tried to swallow yawns throughout most of the visit, and I could see that the library was disappearing into the distant horizon . I also needed to hang out my washing as the sun was coming out - however, when he did finally go, I went out with the washing into the garden - and there were a pair of buzzards being chased by a seagull! Now, if old E hadn't come, I'd have missed that sight, wouldn't I? Glass half-full day today I think!

Going cross eyed trying to get the Book finished off; linked to Facebook and blogger and uploaded into Kindle... Why do websites put up such a fight?
But the laptop has got to go go apple hospital this afternoon, so I will just have to cope without it and enjoy the weekend with DH. Last one for a while as I am off to see the offspring a week today, leaving him all on his lonesome for 5 weeks.

It's a beautiful day and I'm just going out to Knutsford with my friend, who has been away in Israel. We will be lunching and shopping and gossiping and generally having a good time .
