Good morning everyone.....
Welcome to Volume 4 of this popular thread.
Welcome back Greatnan. Glad you've had a lovely trip, especially Lucerne!
That sounds a really good trip you've just had, greatnan!
I love reading all your news but I find it hard to keep up with what has been happening in your lives, so I keep going back to your earlier posts. I think I am going to start a notebook where I can make a note of which of you lives where, who is waiting for/has just had a new gc, who has been having health or family problems, etc. Am I the only person who has this problem? Of course, there are certain members who are hard to forget- no matter how hard you try.
Soop - you should do as you are told!
I lived near Perpignan, at St. Cyprien Plage, and it was quite a hard decision to choose between the sea and the mountains but I can always drive down to the Med for a few days when the weather is better.
I think the Musee D'Orsay is much better than the Louvre (I love the impressionists) and usually does not have such long queues.
I have spent four days with juragran - we had a lovely day in beautiful Lucerne, in warm sunshine, taking a cruise on the lake, and using the special one day passes she can buy to take several trains - I love Swiss railways. I am normally alone in my travels, so it was really good to have her company and of course her knowledge of her native country.
Gally waiting to hear news of the wee one's safe arrival. I'm feeling excited for you. Safe travels and lots of love x
nanachrissy I was glad to read that your dad's service went well and send you love.
You are right about those seats, when. I got cramp in my leg at one point and couldn't get comfortable until the interval. They do sell very good ice cream there!
What an eventful time you've been having Annobel. I love the Opera House - the seats are extremely squeaky and uncomfortable (unless they've been revamped lately) but it's such a fabulous atmosphere. Last time I went there was to a panto, without any children! Don't know how that came about, but we had a whale of a time
I dropped off my NZ sister at the airport this morning to go to Edinburgh to see her DD and GS. I'll see her at the end of May when we'll meet in Dundee where our other sister lives. We had an enjoyable evening at Buxton Opera House were we saw Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, sung in English and a very good production it was. Weather was foul and we got a bit wet going in - later found that my umbrella had been in the car all the time but she had been sitting on it! Today it is at last sunny, but the forecast is unpromising.
Reading this thread I'm reminded of a biblical quotation about rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep. That's what we do.
Have a good trip syberia
Gally good luck for your DD today x
Nanachrissy ((hug)) be kind to yourself x
whenim love to those babies! x
And to everyone else
Off to Scotland via Yorkshire, so see you all in about 8 days x x
Gally - safe journey today! Hopefully you'll be taking this sunshine with you - not that you'll have time to notice when mother and baby get home again! Stay in touch with us?
xx
Thanks Carol - fingers firmly X'd. Your little ones sound too scrumptious - I love them at that age - all squishy and smiley
Good morning Gally. Hope things go well today for your daughter. If anything's an incentive to get away from hopital it's that food!
Gally Fingers crossed!
What is going on in our NHS? It's shocking!
It's a grey start to the day here in my bit of Cheshire, but I'm off to my exercise class where I will meet lots of good friends, and we have coffee afterwards. We usually fill the coffee shop, and make a lot of noise like naughty schoolgirls.
First day of "freedom"
Beautiful sunny day here - hope it's the same for you Nanachrissy. It always lifts the spirits!
DD3 has finally, after nearly 24 hours, had some attention in the hospital (don't get me started on that). She was woken at 5.30 this morning and put on a hormone drip, so hopefully something will happen soon.
. They gave her one piece of soggy toast for breakfast following a nourishing supper last night of a floppy white bread cheese sandwich, a bag of crisps and a carton of juice delivered in a brown paper bag. Hurrah for NHS catering!!
Faye my little twinny grandaughters were so tiny when they arrived, so they are probably a bit smaller than your little one. Scrumptiously cuddly! They are catching up beautifully, though and we won't be able to see any difference in size and weight by the time they're one. This is the age when they become so fascinating as they learn to move about and chatter away non-stop.
Good morning nanachrissy. You've got over that hurdle of your first night on your own and it's a brand new day. I hope you've got a few things planned and some opportunities to look after yourself.
whenim64 babies at 6 months are so cuddly aren't they?
Faye I just cried reading about Annika's friend, so I suppose the tears will flow, I just don't know when
I am often the same chrissy Sometimes I feel like the tears are stuck when I think this is a time I should be really upset and crying. Then other times I cry because I read or hear of something sad. I feel like I am all over the place.
carol my granddaughter is two weeks younger than your granddaughters. I am always interested to hear how well they are doing. I have loved every minute of each of my grandchildren but I think this little one is my last and am trying to squeeze in every baby moment she has and she is growing so fast.
gally a new baby in the family is such a wonderful time.
green He sounded sweet, but I wonder why he thought you were eccentric.
Those wee girls - it's hard to believe they're 6 months old already! Wonderful when! And so many other things have worked out so well, too - life's good, eh!
when - It CAN'T be 6 months already! Lovely to hear they are a continued joy and thriving.
chrissy glad everything went well, dont worry about tears
soop think you have gone to bed but you might see this tomorrow, take your time dont rush things
gally exciting time waiting for the little one to arrive, caught you all on the hop
green
you should have tripped him up as he went past
carol I cant believe its 6 months since the girls arrived.
Green lovely!
Today I have been having fun with my twinny grandaughters, Alice and Polly. They are 6 months old today, and two bonnier babies you wouldn't find! Both gurgling and babbling away, laughing inanely at mysterious patches on the ceiling, and shrieking with delight when the cat walks past.
To think they were little scraps in incubators weighing as much as a sugar bag just a few months ago. I am sooooo much happier now they are reaching all their milestones and thriving.
And he waved as the bus drew away...
! It's been a funny week....
