Your Best Bits?

(36 Posts)

As an antidote to discussions about weight gain, thinning hair, decreasing mobility etc etc .....it may be fun to share what we consider to be our 'best bits'
I'd like to nominate my ears. They are small, neat, close to the skull and I've always been proud of them. smile
Any other nominations?

Never understood all this naming of parts and body hate. I have a satisfactory body that has served me well and never frightened the horses.

What more could I want?

I didn't realise how old this thread was ? , where do recent posters find these old posts? Anyway, a couple of years ago, I would have said my ears were fairly OK, but just lately they have grown bigger, but I can cover them with my hair, which has got a kink to it these days. My eyes are nice, but lots of smile lines around them. Oh well, I can still dream.?

My back - the shape of it - my mother always told me my Dad had remarked on it when I was a child but also told her it was the same as hers. I am glad to say DD also has it and so does my DGD - she is young (25) tall slim and looks wonderful in a dress with a low back - something I would never have had the courage to wear - she wears funny bra things which require a sort of sellotape when she does!

My boobs and dare say nipples as well. 36 cc d still pointing forwards. I can still go braless with right top blouse. Legs and my bright blue eyes. I have good skin complexion but hands have liver spots.

pompa you sound adorable...that's your best bit...

pompa Fri 17-Jun-11 07:24:17

Not sure I ever had any best bits sad, I guess Mrs. P must have found some (definitely wasn't my money). As far as hair goes, I still have all mine, it has just moved from my head to my ears, nose etc.

Its got to be my hair, still have my fringe cut heavy as in the 60s only
because it suits me and wear my hair past my shoulders so it can go
up or down, its not as thick as it was but not bad.legs not to bad as
long as I keep my jeans on.

lucid Thu 16-Jun-11 22:17:40

notsogrand I do have longish hair but my ears still stick through! Have learnt to live with it now. You should try the new long tunics....great for coverage over jeans.

Notsogrand Thu 16-Jun-11 22:12:55

lucid you can always grow your hair to cover your ears but even Rapunzel couldn't cover my bum! I haven't worn jeans since 1965.

greenmossgiel Thu 16-Jun-11 22:04:51

I've been struggling to find a 'best bit', actually..or even a nice bit...though if I was to ask my partner, I know he would say 'all of me'! I've tried smiling at myself in the mirror and I looked ok , so I'm going to do more of that! grin grin grin

hannahj Thu 16-Jun-11 21:56:47

i've got nice feet. . .no bunions ,no corns,no hard skin,no misshapen toes just small neat feet. . ..just a shame about the rest of me

Annobel Thu 16-Jun-11 21:48:47

My left ankle. the right one has been a bit swollen recently!

crimson Thu 16-Jun-11 20:50:07

lucid; my nickname was 'wingnut'........[not at school but when I started work..guess the kids at school didn't know what a wingnut was].

em Thu 16-Jun-11 20:35:16

Supernana/pompa .....have looked again and stil 'don't get it'
Very proud of my boobs - better than when I rivalled Twiggy for skinny flat chest and really wanted a cleavage even when unfashionable.

Sook Thu 16-Jun-11 13:57:04

I'm 57 and still got a shapely pair of legs.

supernana Thu 16-Jun-11 13:32:21

pompa I see what you mean...oh dear! blush

supernana Thu 16-Jun-11 13:25:42

pompa have I said something naughty? If so, please explain confused

pompa Thu 16-Jun-11 13:07:28

ROFL, Supernana, check how your post looks in the preview.

supernana Thu 16-Jun-11 13:03:56

If we take the best bits of each of us and make into a cocktail [shaken not stirred] we could call it a Gransbestbitsblitzzer...and serve with a wee umbrella [just for fun]...wink

lucid Thu 16-Jun-11 11:08:55

Oh notsogrand how lucky you are....if I tell you my nickname at primary school was 'Big Ears' you will realize why I think that! I have ears to rival Gary Linekar envy
My best bit is my bum....still looks good in jeans.

baggythecrust! Thu 16-Jun-11 10:53:03

I have been given lots of compliments over the years and still am. I've also been called a weirdo fairly often, which I also take as a compliment since it means I'm not a sheep.

nanafrancis Thu 16-Jun-11 10:20:32

I was always told my voice sounded lovely on the phone - pity the reality didn't match up !

Grandmacool Thu 16-Jun-11 09:54:04

I try to laugh as much as possible, but I don`t look half as good as I did years ago. People say they love my personality... so I guess that counts.

pompa Thu 16-Jun-11 08:01:24

If we could all post images of our best bits, I could photoshop together the perfect Gran. !!!!!
