I know it’s some time since anyone posted on this thread, but I went on to read ‘Circe’, which I got from the library, having been on a very long waiting list for it. I haven’t enjoyed a book so much for a long time, and I bought a copy so that I could enjoy it again. Madeline Miller’s prose style is as intoxicating as Mary Renault’s was and her research is every bit as meticulous. You could almost say the same about Natalie Haynes, who writes in similar vein.
Sunday still feels different. Does anyone else notice that?
